Just a hobby, I haven't even had it a year yet and I'm still learning. The drone (and editing) is very good at making me look more skilled than I am.![]()
They’re very good and well done for documenting this. I look at old photos of Sunderland when various things were getting built or events. It will be great for people in the future to refer back to your videos.
Whoever invented them deserves the freedom of the cityMemories of the chippy up from the derby at roker park. Being a youngun 10p a shot was right up my streetand they were tremendous.
They’re getting it ready opposite the glass centre nowAnyone know when they are lifting the central section in ?
Aye I saw it yesterday, just would like to see it actually being lifted into placeThey’re getting it ready opposite the glass centre now
Looking at the photos of the Mid section and the South Section on the barge I'd say the smaller section in the plan above is part of 1 large south section now, I saw it posted that they were 105m and 63m. Its 4 lifts instead of 5 now which would make sense and there doesn't appear to be a temporary pier on the south side for it to sit on to be welded like the North Side.Wonder if the smaller section 5 is coming on the back of a low loader by road

Think youre right mate - was thinking that myself that the 2 smaller inner land lifts are just 1 nowLooking at the photos of the Mid section and the South Section on the barge I'd say the smaller section in the plan above is part of 1 large south section now, I saw it posted that they were 105m and 63m. Its 4 lifts instead of 5 now which would make sense and there doesn't appear to be a temporary pier on the south side for it to sit on to be welded like the North Side.

I thought that someone mentioned earlier in the thread that it was to be jacked up into position, though stand to be corrected on thatLooks like the middle section is primed ready to be lifted, but that crane will never lift it from there . Is there a floating crane coming to lift it ?
strand jaxks will be used from the south and north sections to winch it up..looks like the blue steels are the jack supportsI thought that someone mentioned earlier in the thread that it was to be jacked up into position, though stand to be corrected on that
