What did he say? I left at tea and felt even then it was quite dark and thought an early finish was comingYeah they were and I had a few strong words with them afterwards.
Edit - Well just back at where we are staying in Somerset. Have to say that last 13 overs was absolutely farcical. Firstly taking them off for bad light, truth be told I felt it was no darker than an hour earlier. However majority went home and the feeling was no further play and the light most definitely was fading, it was getting darker. For them to them to come back out was very surprising as it was clearly a lot darker than earlier and it kept getting darker. Losing 3 wickets I expected. End of play both umpires held back walking off, I managed to have a word with one of them who told me it was lighter when they came back on... I had to laugh and just said "no chance". His response to me raised a few eyebrows and shock from others in the vicinity of the dugouts area. Absolute farcical conditions and it's spoilt what would have been a canny day tomorrow. Just the 320 miles to drive home tomorrow. I keep saying this but the standard of umpiring is appalling and it's showing no signs of improvement. The response the umpire gave me tonight is genuinely concerning especially for all players if they deem those conditions to be safe to play red ball cricket.
When he was walking off I shouted that they've spoilt a good game and any chance of a good chase tomorrow and he then walked over to me and I said how can you expect to play fair red ball cricket in those conditions and he told me it was lighter when they came back on than it was when they went off... I just laughed and said "no chance". His response to me raised a few eyebrows and one Durham player who I won't name was sat in the dugout and popped his head out in genuine shock at what the umpire had said. What did he say? "Pitch black" - he's absolutely spot on. Appreciate he has to be careful what he says though. You must be logged on to see media items
Wonder if it's the same one I've had run ins with when Hull have played Bristol City. Preaches mental health (nothing wrong with that) but calls you all the names under the sun over a silly game. If not him then they must have a few. Never felt quite the same about Somerset since I came across him, daft I knowSome daft idiot Somerset fan on twitter wanting ECB sanctions for time wasting.... Me and my wife have asked what sanction is he proposing for a +6 over rate.

Love Somerset. Best friend lives here (where we are staying at for this game). We've had a fantastic trip so far, it's a great place to watch cricket, very clean and tidy ground with lovely friendly stewards. Got so much time and love for this county, had some good holidays down here. Had a good craic with a lot of their supporters so far however I was confused by some today moaning about as perceived time wasting when our over rate remained at +6 all day. I'm very passionate about my cricket and love this club so much, and that last 45 minutes tonight has soured things truth be told and that's no fault of Somerset or Durham and takes nothing away from the fact Somerset have been the better side, I'm just getting fed up of the umpiring inconsistency time and time again. I appreciate the debate on here where some suggest it's not a conspiracy against Durham and on the whole I agree with that as my view is that the umpiring is shit across the board... However that decision tonight has really got me wondering, I've never watched County Cricket in such darkness like that and for the umpire to have the nerve to suggest it was lighter when they were brought back on really concerns me about the game in general as that was absolutely rotten.Wonder if it's the same one I've had run ins with when Hull have played Bristol City. These pair of twats would be chased off the field in my league and I play in Division 11 in the Warwickshire league.
Pair of cheating fuck wits. I’m raging.

No way they’d have brought the players back on at CLS - most ‘homer’ decision I’ve ever seen.
Would be interested to hear Marty’s views, he’s got a light meter and regularly takes readings so I’m certain he’ll have done so today at the various times.
That said, when I flicked the stream on after seeing they’d decided to resume play it was obvious just how dark it was. The floodlights were clearly far too dominant for there to be enough ‘natural light’.
Something has to be done about this. The club MUST place on record a formal complaint. I don’t care if it means we get rough treatment from umpires as a result (what could they possibly do that’s worse than they currently do anyway) but this sort of shit keeps happening to us and it’s time we fought back.
I saw how dark it was on the stream. It was a complete joke. Virtually day/night match conditions.
That red ball must have been difficult to play.
If it was us bowling and trying to force a win you can bet the umpires would have been half way to their hotel 5 minutes after they went off for bad light.
I know decisions can go against us and not everybody is against us but I agree with @GordonMuchallNo1Fan something doesnt feel right here.
Hanging would be a bit drastic though.
but a phonetic victory as rather meaningless unless you win the championship. Am I right that you've never win the county championship in your 150 year history? Nothing to gloat about have you really?
Read phyrric for phonetic
Well, should I say not the most diplomatic of comments stating the obvious after Durham lost crucial wickets when forced to bat in conditions clearly unfit for 1st class cricket.Who's gloating?
Good morning,Mr Perfect.Whether they were right or wrong (sounds very much like they were wrong), why do you think it's ok to shout at, and confront, the umpires?
