Great questions. From what I can see, it's all stemming from one tweet with no other sources

The original tweet was by Inside Clubs, then Glen Williams of Wales Online followed it up

Seemed like another development player. Albeit a bit further down the line than Mayenda

Always looked like the 2nd choice of 3 not first choice.
 
Ah well, we tried. Not sure how hard if Cardiff can come in, buy him and then send him elsewhere in a matter of days whilst we've been after the lad for over a week. Maybe we pulled out of the deal when we got Wilson?

Mayenda and Mundel scoring and us being top of the league may have the board thinking they'll keep the Clarke money in the their pockets instead.
