CC : Somerset v Durham

Gerrin Carse! Needed that as they rattling along and we're not getting any assistance from Umpires

The county streams have highlighted that the standard of umpiring is crap, every round there's numerous clips on social media of awful decisions. The two lbw shouts we've had this morning were that plum I don't even know how a professional umpire could have come to a conclusion it's not out.

I get people only get the one view and they are only human.

But neither of those were remotely close decisions. The second is one of the worst I've seen in donkeys.

First one i thought was out but could have been close on height, 2nd was hitting halfway up middle, absolutely no idea how it wasn't given!

Not capitalised on the conditions on offer just not been accurate enough think there is a bit in the surface a lot of boundary balls.

Think we could of had a couple more if we have bowled at our best.

I think this game sees the return of the Kookaburra ball too.
The irony is that the kookaburra is supposed to help our England test players yet none of them play regularly in the county championship.

It should have been used in the test matches this summer as well.

It's not though, it's to develop the next lot to better prepare them for Test cricket in other conditions.

I.e finding ways to take wickets when it's flat and getting more spinners playing. Batsman getting a chance to construct innings rather than being ran through by medium pacers.

In some games it worked, in others it definitely didn't.

Edgbaston groundsman blamed the ball but the pitch they prepared was a shocker.

I suppose you’re both right in a way, but @Aidan11 definitely has a point about the current squad.
Going to lunch with Abell having at least33 runs more than he should plus still in . Frustratingly

Just checking in now, been all over the place today, but was he dropped? Or another joke umpiring decision?

Looking quite ominous at present on a pitch that looks to be turning already.
