Boro thread

They didn’t but it’s a great SMB myth

They didn’t though
No one knows for sure. Both Gateshead and Hartlepool were up for re-election, the newspaper rumours at the time were that newcastle had given their 4 votes to Hartlepool but as this was a secret vote I don't suppose we'll ever find out the truth. Anyone want to put a freedom of information request in to the FA? :)

Their attendances are ok and certainly not embarrassing. However I don’t buy this ‘we are a small town’ nonsense. Middlesbrough, plus Stockton, plus Redcar & Cleveland is a massive almost unrivalled catchment population.
Stockton is County Dufham (as was) and has plenty of SAFC fans.
What in Northumberland? I don’t believe you!
I bet more people live in Northumberland than the sea where our only unopposed catchment area is!😂
Northumberland is England's most sparsely populated county.

Crowds win you nothing however ….
for our very young side -it certainly helps them having 40000 backing them .
“All together” at the minute but can change as we all know .
Think RLB has realised quickly what TM often said about the crowd -they need to utilized as the 12th man

So how come experienced players more often than not would bottle it in front of similar crowds.

Still more people in it than the sea I believe, well who may attend football matches anyway. I know we get a lot from Northumberland areas at our games, but the main inclination is likely to be Newcastle. Although it is sparse last consensus had its population of 320k. It’s a nice area to claim

Yeah I’d have thought 26k is pretty decent for you. Not sure why people are having a pop
I think the issue may be that on a per head basis Boro should expect to be getting a bigger crowd maybe?

Seriously though not sure why people think they should have a pop at Boro when their crowds are 26k - especially with Gibson seeming to have gone for the Sheriff of Nottingham role rather than Robin Hood
