Of course that's what's happened. Look at the flurry of action since the information about Clarke came out.

If they had the money and intention to spend they'd have done it long before selling Clarke mate.

It’s reported that the option is with the club and he’s essentially already agreed. Of course if he hates it I doubt we’d complete the deal but the option seems to be at our discretion unlike for example the Dajaku deal where we would probably have preferred not to sign him.

I think it’s actually a way of getting around the deal due to Russia sanctions. They are paying 100% of the wage so we aren’t handing money over to a Russian club

If they announced simic first then people will say them deals were rumoured and completed before Clarke even went so it wasn't the Clarke money. So where has that gone.

Same happened with Stewart. As soon as we were linked to two strikers it was totally obvious they were accepting the Ipswich bid.

There was gnashing of teethe that we didn’t make kiefer Moore a loan signing, that we didn’t get Amad, that we missed out on Stansfield. Are we now angry that we would make use of loans to get a very highly rated young player?
