If your plan is to realise an asset to invest in further assets then you sometimes have to accept less than you believe the asset is 'worth'. This seems to be the case as unfortunately no-one else agrees with your valuation. Such is life. He’s being sold for less than his value though, and that was the point.
Saying an asset is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it doesn’t mean that somebody else’s valuation is more correct than the owner of the asset, and that the owner of the asset has to accept somebody else’s valuation and give their asset up for a pittance.
We had the option to say ‘no’ to the sale, and @BarnesPark patronising people saying they don’t know anything about economics for thinking that it’s a bad deal, when it is so blatantly a bad deal, is actually what is ‘just silly’.
…oooor it could have risen as he could have had another year of being the best player in the league under his belt and helping us to gain promotion.Haway, not being patronising.
Just saying his value is dictated by the market and what people are prepared to pay.
One club wanted Jack and wanted to pay £20m so that, in reality is his value.
Had we held on another year, that would have dropped further.
We have a terrible track record in the market recently. I wouldn’t trust them to spend the £15m well.If your plan is to realise an asset to invest in further assets then you sometimes have to accept less than you believe the asset is 'worth'. That might be more of a reflection of others tbh. Agree he needs game time..they all do. But feel that should be a loan. He's too raw at the moment. Looks like bambi on ice at times and his final product is quite often dreadful. He's shown more than plenty others. The boy's just gone 21. He needs game time and coaching, and a settled position.
Small club yes but a club with no debt and about 10 million currently in the bank so no need to sellPlymouth are a small club. Offer £8M, settle on £10M.
And?Small club yes but a club with no debt and about 10 million currently in the bank so no need to sell
Hang on. Is it actually confirmed by the club yet?
Sooooo…. If Clarke decides fuck that I’m staying we have lots and lots of posters looking silly?
If you had a car worth £5 grand would you sell it for a grand .If your plan is to realise an asset to invest in further assets then you sometimes have to accept less than you believe the asset is 'worth'. Let it go mate, he’s goneSooooo…. If Clarke decides fuck that I’m staying we have lots and lots of posters looking silly?
Or £25m ... that's a separate discussion…oooor it could have risen as he could have had another year of being the best player in the league under his belt and helping us to gain promotion.
Because of his largely ineffective loan moves earlier in his career and his inability to break through at spurs other clubs perceived him a risky purchase which put them off. The longer he plays consistently well the less that risk becomes.
He is worth much more to us than £15m. Accepting such a low bid has weakened us significantly as we won’t replace his contributions for that amount.

100%Clarke will be happy he’s getting a hefty payrise and a PL move but I think he’ll be a little disappointed only Ipswich came in for him.
Clarke wasn’t the player he is now when he pitched up here..coaching staff must take sone credit. If we can repeat the process maybe the model can work.I’m over it now, LETS GET READY TO MUNDLE
