Jack Clarke

What the fuck is that last sentence about?

The odds on us taking him back as we cross paths in 12 months isn’t zero?

You don’t genuinely believe we are going to be challenging promotion do you?

And if by some miracle we did do you think we’d be splashing 20 plus million on a player we’d sold a year before?
I said its not zero, not its likely. If we did go up than its not an impossibility that's all.

Signed for 750k.
Developed into a fine player contributing loads to SAFC along the way.
Sold for 20 million.

That's the model working mate... case and point
Well that’s part of the model working

The other half of the model is now set to be tested when we see who they reinvest the money on as that was the whole point of it supposedly

Once the big fees start coming in that’s when we start fishing in a bigger pond and signing more established players for bigger fees

I won’t hold my breath

Sell players for a profit and reinvest to improve the team incrementally…I await the improvement with baited breath

Exactly my feelings on it

We shall see ey. Not long to wait to find out either way

Unless of course we are told there was enough time to reinvest and the money will be there in January……

They have over a week for this one…no excuse not to have an improved team over the one the had pre-Clarke sale

E.. xactly ,money will be getting pocketed .Aloan so far ,maybe we wont get anything else over the line in time AHEM

Gutted he's leaving and gutted with the price quoted. Seems undervalue to me but then again no one else has come in with a higher bid so it seems we couldn't / didn't want to wait till the last minute before getting the money in (I know it will be in instalments like any transfer in or out) giving us time to get some others in. I am not convinced we will be stronger at the end of the window but I will wait and see. I don't really have a choice in it.

Whoever plays on Saturday LW will be thinking "Why the fook do you all keep passing to me all the time!" :lol:Perhaps they will bring in others and we will be stronger but I am not clued up on most of the lads linked so no idea if they are shite or sublime, but i am sick of u tube clips

His agent is a prick but the one thing i will give Clarke is he always gave his all and workrate to track back for the team etc......Now piss off ya hairband wearing, hair flicking, shorts pulling up, diving Knacker  Good luck

That £750k was reported as high as £3m at the time.
Hasn't been sold for £20m it's a £15m fee of which 25% goes to Spurs. So as of now we're getting £11.2m

The club should sell a transfer deadline day advent calendar at the shop but when you open the windows, there is no chocolate in there, not even a picture of anything . 7 more windows to open

We'll not have replaced Clarke with a player of similar or better quality long after his contract would have expired. So many people on here too happy with this.

The deal was reported as 15 mil up front the rest later.Unless they are gonna use the instalments story line,so they can spend very little in the next week

It's always been something that would happen, this is the model going forward.

I'd have asked for 25-30million considering his record over his time at the club and looking at fees other club have got for players with lesser goal contributions (Rutter at Leeds 40m) and players with less game time going for 25m + Carvalho/van den berg both Liverpool admittedly. Even Bobby Clark went for 10m from Liverpool with only 6 senior apps to his name.

We were in control of the contract situation with Clarke so could play hardball with the fee and maybe take what we are now next season depending on how things went with only the year remaining on the contract.

Feels more like Ian Harte pushing this through than Jack himself. He deserves his chance in the Premier and I hope he's successful at Ipswich.

Aye.
He kept us up almost single handed last season. Great asset for the Model.

Up to Ba, Mundle, Hemir etc to step up and guarantee championship saftety for the Model this season so we can sell them on too.

It doesn't matter if it is in instalments most of the transfers are like that. It's guaranteed income so even . We will be paying in instalments on our transfers in. That won't be the excuse. It's who we actually get over the line. They have just sold our best player so I am now laser guided aligned in whatever bollocks is trotted out, but I will just judge on what is done and not what is said.
