Jack Clarke

We've been done a kipper again man, The fee is shite and the only reason we are bringing two strikers in is because we are relying on the Clarke money to fund it.

We haven't spent a bean all summer yet want Rege to get us in the top 6. There's absolutely zero ambition to get promoted based on what the ownership are investing in the playing squad. We would have got 15 million for Clarke next summer with a year left on his deal regardless, If he replicated the same form from last season.

Absolute mugs, Well the fans are, the ownership couldn't give a fuck.
No club wants to be in that position, where their main asset can walk for free in a year.

Anyone who thinks we won’t miss Jack Clarke is living in cloud cuckoo land.

Our only hope is this bunch of cretins running the club can invest the money wisely, although the fact they’ve been mugged by Ipswich doesn’t fill me with confidence
Not to mention they gone 2 years and 4 windows without being able to find a striker and it took them 6 months to appoint RLB.

Now the KLD fan club seem to think we're going to replace Clarke in a week.

The meltdown isnt selling him "within the model we have been told the club is operating". Its the fact they've sold him for so far below the going rate its unreal.

After Spurs take their ounce of flesh we are left with just over £11M, who's to say the add-ons ever materialise and there's not even a mention of a sell-on clause for us when Ipswich sell. I genuinely think we'd have been better off keeping him for the remainder of his contract and letting him go for free at the end. What he'd give you over the next 2 years is worth so much more than £11M and massively increases not only your chances of promotion but also staying up.

"The fee received is a little less than the £25million price tag Sunderland had put on him, but there is a significant sell-on included as well."

He was quality and they had to double up on him which created space for others which, unlike last season, we capitalised on
This it’s strange how people don’t get that, it’s not just his stats we are going to miss which are huge for us it’s the fact teams are scared of the lad, plan for him and double up a lot of times on him like you say leaving space for others. It’s mental how people are trying to downplay this transfer. It’s not just the raw numbers we won’t be able to replace especially in one player it’s what he brings outside of that.

He wouldn't be going for free though, As they can cash in next summer or even this January if we aren't in with a shout of promotion. There's also zero indication he was refusing to enter talks for a new deal either, infact there was significant rumours of the opposite.

It's a shite deal man and they're pulling the wool over fans eyes, again.

If we had got off to a bad start can you imagine the atmosphere around the club? The two wins have seriously masked the off-field issues.

I don’t doubt he’d be a huge miss, but I don’t think you can attribute Clarke’s good work for 3 of them.

First one, wins a free kick. Fairly standard for most wingers tbf.
Second one, not really involved other than the press (the whole team were).
Third one, gets the short corner and plays it square to Rigg. Pretty good but fairly standard pass.
Fourth one, good run and cross. I’ll give you that one.

You say fairly standard like it’s something we’re seeing our other players do regularly when everyone - yourself included - knows that isn’t the case.

Let’s not pretend that if it was Ba or Rusyn or Mundle they’d have that level of ability and directness to cut inside, beat a man and draw a foul for the first. He absolutely launched himsel to the ground like and it was never a free kick in a million years but we’ll ignore that  the simple pass to Rigg, would you trust Ba or Mundle or whoever to carry the ball away from the corner and then make the pass every time? The second goal he had a one on one should Mayenda have decided to slip him in as well.

Might look simple but that reduces away from his ability and why he’s a difference maker. He consistently makes better decisions and consistently is able to create opportunities in the final third because of it. Amad did a lot of incredible things with the ball but one simple thing he did that massively benefitted us was drag defenders away from Roberts, it doesn’t take an incredibly skilled footballer to do it but look what happens last year when you don’t have that simple consistent thing there.

Exactly mate and this is the most frustrating thing for me - we eventually appear to have a manager who recognised this and encouraged players to get into the holes. He’ll now have to think of something else.

KLD is one of the worst things to happen to this football club.

He simply is not true to his word about reinvestment of funds received from transfers to purchase better potential quality players who we could then develop and sell for even more money. Making the club sustainable and gradually improve the playing side.

This was the model that was sold to us. This is not the model we are following though in that we are selling players at less than their market value and are not reinvesting it in the playing squad

Where’s the money going KLD? Where’s the ambition?

He's not sold just yet.
