Jack Clarke

From what Romano has said, it seems like Clarke really wanted to leave for the PL. Ipswich knew this and it leaves SAFC in a tough position.
It does when we’ve proven we don’t have any ambition to get there ourselves.

If we had a proper go last season instead of ‘plodding on’ under Beale and Dodds things might have been different.

Can’t blame him one bit, deserves a shot at the PL. The fee is an absolute f***ing disgrace, mind.

The reason we looked like going up was amad. We couldn't afford to buy him and man utd refused to let him go back out on loan.
The result of amad not being back took alot of goals way and especially how well roberts played. We were fucked 2nd half of last season and the managerial decisions fucked it up even more.
2 wins and many fans feeling weve turned the corner and replacing a match winner is far harder than people grasp and as yet we still havent replaced stewart or amad and now have to replace clarke. I sometimes despair and the happy clappers resiliance as ever is on full display and everything is fine !

Tough position? They must have had KLD’s pant down and shafted him up the arse for £15m. Awful deal, we’ll only see £12.4m, as I presume the add-ons will be them staying up, Clarke playing for England etc

To a massive wage increase that he won't get here and to a club that actually wants to be successful?

Why would he?
Exactly, hence the reason for wanting to be in the PL. Other players at the club were happy to sign extensions with pay rises, unfortunately whatever was offered to Clarke either officially or verbally wasn’t enough.

Gutted.

We all knew it was coming, I just expected more in terms of the initial fee. The most productive player in the Championship in the last couple of years going for only £15 million is a steal.

No hard feelings towards Jack though. He came in down to League 1 to reignite his career, and he's done it.

I just hope they invest the money in players that have some experience and quality, rather than gambling on a Ba / Michut / Lihadji type of player. We need an immediate replacement, not a project.

The difference in ambition between us and Ipswich over the last 3 years is frightening! Look where ambitious owners have got them. We will still be selling off our players in 5 years time and be no further forward with this lot in charge, bookmark this!
