Jack Clarke

Its only a few people on here that think it's ok. The same people will never ever criticise the club for anything and are just happy to accept being bang average and having no ambition.
Mags get £40m for reserve team young 'un who's hardly kicked a ball, if at all, in first team football....the fee if correct for Clarke is horrific.

Lose him to a mid to lower table PL team a la Palace/Fulham etc but to fukin Ipswich Town who were L1 season afore last and one of the favourites to be relegated is beyond a joke.

Stewart's goals were not missed as much only because of Clarke's great season last year, 2 years running our top goalscorer has been sold, some goals now missing from that team at present which urgently needs replacing asap.

People are aware and accept the model to a degree but this is its first real test for me and we have sold much, much too cheap.

I had bought house and got married by 23 , I could certainly make a decision on my own.
His dad is always around , he could have asked his advice....bottom line is he is ultimately the decision maker. It's up to him what he does, he could fire his agent if he thought he was getting poor career advice
Would you have known the ins and outs of an industry riddled with shitehawks at that age though? On paper it looks like a good deal for him, anyway. His agent has done his job well.

I don't think you can blame Clarke, he's been good for us and will have ambitions of playing in the Premier League.

Maybes under the right circumstances he could have done that with us but the option is there now and there's no guarantee that even if we kept him we are going to be challenging to go up, good start or not.

We just have to now hope the money is reinvested well, we get these two lads in and they don't take ages to acclimatise to the league whilst at the same time the rest of the players continue to play well and improve.

I'd already resigned myself to losing Clarke last season so I'm not outraged at him leaving. Fee seems a bit low but we really don't know the ins and outs yet.

It seems done now so we have to get on with it and hopefully turn in a good performance on Saturday. The likes of Mundle and Rusyn need to step up and to do that need runs into he team, is it a bit early for them to take on that role - we shall find out.

Don't think all the crying about it is gonna help things so let's go get another 3 points Saturday and even though we aren't getting anyone who can replace Clarke, hopefully the team as a whole can find a balance and continue the good start.

£50k a week says he's not bothered.
was never going to stay when given a chance in the prem. (relegation fodder or not).
'loves the club' etc
True, loyalty has gone, it went a long time back to be fair. I can't blame the lad in today's world. Different mindset, SKP was same mindset but the loyalty period seemed to last a little longer back then. It is what it is for me.

Them and every other football fan looking at this deal are pissing themselves laughing that we've been bent over.
They're not relevant at all lad. You'd never catch me dead saying you can't disagree with them lot laughing at us. Like you can be disappointed without embarrassing yourself by happily sucking off the barcodes.

The market for PL transfers is ridiculous mind. We're just simply not at that level unfortunately

You don't want to keep a player who had his head turned, that's the difference.

Ah gerrin, I was wondering how long it would take for the 'We're a one trick pony under Clarke, we'll play better football without him' posts, same was said when Bent left.

Happy to deliver. 👍

Any comments that might add something speculative about our footballing future or just up for a dummy chuck about fellow posters to ease your angst? :)

Lost Stewart, Simms (granted loan), Amad (loan) and now likely Clarke. We have very few goals in our side remaining and we all know what happens when you struggle for goals.

It's a massive risk to put all our hopes on a few players who have never played in the English leagues. Let's hope we get this right.

I’m just thankful that we have other players who will step up and score goals like 09. Glad our centre back is joint top scorer with Clarke.

Who else is gonna score the goals man. Could be horrific this

Absolutely mate. The club is being ran by people who just don’t get it. There is literally NO DEFENCE in selling Clarke for £15m plus add ons if that is the actual figure that is being widely reported. It’s beyond total and utter incompetence, but it sadly comes as no surprise.
