Can we sell him too thenIs KLD not more of the issue here?
100% this. That was absolutely unforgivable and KLDs pathetic response that he didn’t know what was happening just made it worse. He should’ve been made to put the club up for sale thenWe are being taken for a ride. We turned the black cats bar into a mag shrine. From that point we all should have done more to hound the horrible little bastard out.
You can say that for any player though, even if you're in the top flight. Look at how Wolves and Brighton lose their best players.Once they’ve impressed sufficiently, if they do, they’ll be sold. Two of them aren’t yet 19 and have a long way to go. The others haven’t been consistent enough, influential enough, or impressed enough at this level yet. If they were all as impressive as some suggest, we’d have picked up a lot more points over the course of the last two seasons.
And who's replacing Clarke? They are signing 2 forwards aren't they ? Do you think they were free transfers ?
What on earth are you on about? 3 million? What if that was the only offer they had on the table ? Should they just reject it wait till next summer and get 3 million for him
I'm sure if they did that then you would be on here next summer winging that they should have took 11 million for him this season
Hindsight is f***ing great if you're a football fan isn't it
.btw I'm not a happy clapper or a fan of the owners I'm just trying to see it from both sides
Aye, they sold Stewart for 10 million. The model is about to blow itself clean out of the water now
It was at this point Soeakman said the heavier investment would start, when we started pulling big fees for players they’d start spending bigger fees on players.
Over to you now KLD and Soeakman. I think we all know what will happen next
He's got 2 years left of his contract. If we kept him for another year he'd be worth 3 million.IT’S THE LOW FEE HELLO MCFLY
Patronising straw man arguments again we all understand the model cos we aren’t thick. The. Fee. Is. Too. Low.
Aye it's that simple. We're all experts in football financesWhat on earth are you on about? 3 million?
Their options were to offer him a contract extension attractive enough for him to sign (clearly they didn't) or to sit back, invest now to form a promotion winning squad around him in which Clarke would no doubt excell, and watch clubs queuing up for him in January or at the end of next season.
Instead they sell him to Ipswich for effectively £11 million.
It's pathetic.
Why wouldn’t Ipswich sign the like for like for cheaper? It's like starting again, if we don't get a like for like. My view is that a cheap alternative will be brought in costing us progress
The team is now weaker than last season when we sunk like a stone. Good chance of relegation. Bookmark this.
The fee mate it makes no sense! We must be desperate for cash there is no other reason to sell at this price. Anderson went from the skunks to Forest? For £35 mil !!!!We've known it for 3 years. We know they want to be self sustainable and sign young talent for peanuts and sell them for a massive profit
So why are some of you shocked and angry ? Has it come as a surprise ? Wether you agree with it, believe in it, it doesn't really matter as non of us can do anything about it.
The biggest thing I take from selling a player for a massive profit is they must reinvest it in to the squad if it makes us stronger then fair enough
As for jack good luck to the kid he's been absolutely phenomenal in a red and white shirt and single handedly win us many many games.
We moved on we've still got a lot of incredible young talent in the squad. The best young talent most of us have seen in decades.
Let's be honest after the poor campaign last season most of us expected many more of our young talent to move on. The fact that the majority of them are still here means we still have e a good shot at promotion
Jack Clarke will never be replaced as he gives us so much as an attacking threat and there's no one out there who will make as much a difference as he does.
However these young lads are incredibly talented and adding a forward or 2 might just make us stronger. Only time will tell. Let's just see how the window pans out.
I'm still super excited to watch this young exciting energetic squad this season.
Let's hope you're right, but they surely only have a tiny amount of wiggle room left with the fans, if they don't show some ambition with Clarkes replacement they'll never here the end of it.Whilst gutted.
I don’t even think our owners are stupid enough to not spend .
No must be about it.The fee mate it makes no sense! We must be desperate for cash there is no other reason to sell at this price. Anderson went from the skunks to Forest? For £35 mil !!!!
You can say that for any player though, even if you're in the top flight. Look at how Wolves and Brighton lose their best players.
It's part of football. We're just not used to it because the last player pre Clarke and Stewart we had that was coveted was Wickam!
Why would they they've got a steal with Clarke, should have at least been 25mil with add onsWhy wouldn’t Ipswich sign the like for like for cheaper?
The fee is far too low, that’s the problem.
