Strangely, Regis stated in his presser about the team needing to hold their 442 shape through games. Have we played 442 in the past 2 years, never mind this season?

We are in a 442 shape out of possession. Either Rigg or Jobe was joining Mayenda to press them at the back, and the other dropped in alongside Neil. And Clarke and Roberts tucked in.

When we defend we go to a narrow 442 with one of the CMs and Mayenda pressing up front.

Yes quite a lot without the ball. Lots of teams do it
4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 are quite easy to switch to 4-4-2. Really you just push the most forward midfielder alongside the CF and you're there

Yes but thats based on Pembele,Triantis Seelt,Hjelde,Ba,Hemir,Rusyn,Michut,Geldhard,Diaku,Ouchshite,and jury still out on others like Mundle.Can you see where the idea that they dont know what they are doing came from.Yes they did well when they first came in doing deals on the never never,as we are now seeing with us owing clubs a cut of transfer fees.The last 3 windows have been shit and on long contracts.
We did it when defending, Roberts and Clarke would drop back alongside Jobe and Neil and Rigg would push forward to press as a 442

Well to me it says that StayPuft feels Simic's dad was a canny player, and that there is a sense of excitement about us signing him, even if he costs more than one might have liked.
For even more clarity (!) his dad is Dario Simic who was a strictly no-nonsense defender who had a decent career in Italy which has to count for something as those buggers knew how to defend!
Personal opinion is both players were here for medical. It’s a case of negotiating final details with Simic maybe and Isidor has already done that so maybe club get our journos to play Simic down
However, there’s far too much to be not true. Reports from multiple people of two people here yesterday @HettonSAFC ssid the agency was here before we even knew the player. Then same day news broke of Simic. He wasn’t in the team yesterday at salzburg and news out of salzburg and Croatia is he’s on his way here.
We defend and start our press in a 442, that was blatently obvious in both games this season mate.

The “duds” list is a lot longer than that, too.
The amount of absolute dross our squad has been lumbered with over the past three or four transfer windows, is incredible. Incredibly grim. It’s no coincidence we’ve been going backwards at such a rate of knots for the best part of the past year or so.
But the usual suspects are out pretending that it’s all great, because we won a game on Saturday. You can spot the idiots a mile off - because they think whatever the last result was, is evidence of something to do with the big picture. It isn’t.
