Jack Clarke

Aware of that and have said all summer we will have a good season this year and the squad was better than it showed.

But even now there's very few of the players brought in with the Stewart money that's making any sort of impact. The same results can't happen woth the Clarke money, its not good enough.

That’s the problem with selling a proven good player, and then spreading a percentage of the fee around on a load of cheap gambles.

The better approach is to buy proven quality to replace proven quality. Only issue with that is proven quality players, expect commensurate wages. Which we won’t pay.

Pretty much everyone was resigned to Clarke leaving this summer last season. I think it's the fact it's fairly late in the day it's starting to move is concerning everyone.

Doubt they sign a replacement with Poveda, Mundle, Rusyn, Watson, Ba and the new fella Isidore coming in.

Massive downgrade, but he's far too good for this division.

I think this is just paper talk. It's out of order as it unsettles the player and supporters of the club he plays for.

There's no way we would offer £15 million. It would be laughed at. We won't be adding players to that either. Broady's injured. I can't imagine you wanting Ladapo or Harness. We wouldn't be chucking in Leif Davis or Chaplin or Burns.

Broady is our left-sided player. Szmodics plays off that side as well. We need a decent right back.

Just me that still thinks he'll be here come the transfer window closing?

It’s all down to whether or not Ipswich (or someone else) coughs up the cash.

It’s within the gift of the club to make clear “he’s not for sale, we’re building a team here to challenge for promotion”, but, well…….

From a team containing Stewart, Simms, Amad and Clarke who were all contributing goals and assists for fun we find ourselves on the verge of having none of them and having replaced them with players who have barely an assist or goal to their name.

If Clarke goes, any incoming strikers need to be a reincarnation of Pele to give us the slightest chance of a promotion tilt,

There’s ZERO chance of £20m being reinvested in player spending in sufficient time.

Another Soeakman induced ‘season plod’ if JC is sold is incoming.
I'm trying no to judge until the window is shut, the start to the season has repaired my faith in the recruitment to an extent, but that seems a very realistic possibility. Let's hope that they pleasantly surprise us if he goes.

Mundle has shown glimpses of potential. Don't know about Watson and Rusyn needs to move on.

Unfortunately I don't have faith in the recruitment team to get a suitable replacement.

Watson looks to be a prospect. Many a slip but it's uncanny how much he looks like Clarke in the way he plays. He's not ready to go mind.

Agent talk more likely

You don’t have faith in the recruitment team to find a replacement! That’s the same recruitment team that brought Clarke, Amad, Bullard, Hume,Jobe, Roberts, Jobe, Alese, Cirkin, Simms, Broadhead, Ekwah etc to the club! It’s mind blowing how negativity can overtake someone’s mind!

Based on nothing more than the alleged level of bids, our stated time frame to kick on for promotion, his own words and the clubs that are supposed to be interested I hope he'll stay. However, if everything comes together, he fancies a particular move and the bid is right for us he'll go.

The suitable replacement (if indeed he leaves) needs to be here in 8 days.

The fear is that he is already here - Mundle who at best can be described as promising but raw and certainly isn’t ready to chip in 15-20 Championship goals with 10+ assists.

Yes.

If another club wants him, we accept a bid, and the player wants the move - I also think he’ll probably go.
