Jack Clarke

I’d say he is nowhere near this level

Brilliant for Sunderland and a top class championship player, but as much as I don’t want to say it Trippier had him in his back pocket last year
Some teams commit 2 to 3 players to close him down. That's fine and understandable , but it's up to us to cash in on that elsewhere..

Newcastle aren't the only team to do that.

No I didn’t

No I didn’t

In what conceivable situation - let alone the current situation - could that ever be seriously described as the “big question”?

Le Bris the yes man

Your posts are a river of self-opinionated, negative spiel - and the question I raise - do you know anything about the game? Have you played to a decent level? Have you ever coached? Or just have lots of experience on a keyboard!

No offence mate but I think the whole tone of this post illustrates the current problem. The whole PR machine of the “model” has got far too many of our supporters thinking in terms of assets - and not in terms of team/squad building. The latter is what the club exists to do. It’s about success on the pitch.

The place for talking about players who “will maybe come good” is academy football. If the players in question had been signed and put in the u21 set up, very few people would have an issue.
I understand your point and take no offence. I just think that there needs to be a balance between buying, selling, and development. Most of the players I mentioned are very early in their development and have a story to write yet. Has the club made mistakes with transfers? Of course. Has the club failed to sign experienced players in key positions? Yep. We also can't ignore the successes that we've had with recruitment and development, either. I think it's probably an agree to disagree situation but I can definitely meet you somewhere between what you refer to as "the model" and being overly critical(just my opinion of how you came across) of a lot of the business that we've done.

You do realise that the post you’ve linked, doesn’t involve me saying ANY of the things you suggested I’d said, yeah?

So can you show me where I said “Sunderland will be relegated”, or that “Le Bris is the French Michael Beale”, or that “Speakman is the worst thing to ever happen to the club”?

Or did you just make all of those things up?

@skunk hater I think the majority on here appreciate you have got stuff in the past right and you post it on here but to post he's agreed a new contract then to ignore loads of posters who tag you because it's such an important topic for safc fans is pretty piss poor tbh.

If you've got it wrong then fair enough but please don't ignore posters
I havent ignored anyone imho there is nothing to answer i stick by what ive said you slagged me last week and now you want me to talk thats whats wrong

What if he's happy here for another year?
This is why I'm relaxed, lad is visibly happy. It's not like the old days when that move meant financial security, he's already done the big PL move as a teen and has more money now that most of us will ever earn. In a world where money means fuck all, the one these kids are in, then our passion and big crowd is a pure draw.
I'd see my above post as a bit of a joke if Ballard, Rigg, Jobe, Cirkin etc didn't seem to agree.

Those are quotes from someone who isn’t me. From a BBC Radio broadcast.

You do know how quotation marks work, don’t you? Like - what they mean?
You said Le Bris was a disaster appointment - apparently he has no experience at senior level. Speakman is a con merchant doing a shocking job. You know zip about football - but apparently good at quotation marks!

How much did all those cost? The sale of Lihaji covers the lot - whilst Ballard, Jobe, Clarke, Cirkin, Hume, Alese, gives the current squad an asset value of over 100 million! But yeah our recruitment is shocking! I’m guessing you’ve never ran a business!!

Those two wins lately must be killing you. How’s your relegation prediction going?

It's just a list. No context, nothing about how many of the early signings mentioned helped us progress, what they cost, how much we recouped, almost all have, or might well in the future serve a purpose, or may even do well for us. Why no Clarke, no Roberts, no Jobe, no Mayenda, no Hume, no Huggins, no Ballard, no Ekwah, no Cirkin, no Alese, and given even loans have to feature to prove his point no Amad? Half the first eleven have been signed for buttons by the people currently in charge and the rest have progressed nicely under their tutelage. Club and staff value has increased massively, our academy is looking good, one or two major prospects, a couple more that could well make the grade but yes, let's show ambition and set fire to it, sack them all.

We've moved forward since the staff he so obviously loathes came to the club, no question about that for me.
