We've already rejected substantial bids for Clarke. Coventry are generally regarded as being ambitious on this board, they sold their best players, one or two other clubs have followed suit. Did that necessarily show a lack of ambition or merely reflect the reality of being a club currently outside the top flight?

I'd like to see Rusyn given some time out wide. Having seen him a bit now, it's clear he's going to struggle leading the line with the physicality of Championship center backs. He could be a second striker in a 442, but just being asked to do too much.

Aware of that and have said all summer we will have a good season this year and the squad was better than it showed.

But even now there's very few of the players brought in with the Stewart money that's making any sort of impact. The same results can't happen woth the Clarke money, its not good enough.

Is it? We will not, and shouldn't, hang on to players who want to move. However, this does not imply we will flop them below our valuation. This is always a matter of brinkmanship, of a club's ability to, in Speakman's words "protect the club". Signing our better players to longer contracts does just that.

Coventry's recruitment has been good as of late. Haji Wright for me is one of the best strikers in the division, it's just taken him a while to find his footing in Europe. I rate Rudoni as well - he's just played in crap teams.
 
From a team containing Stewart, Simms, Amad and Clarke who were all contributing goals and assists for fun we find ourselves on the verge of having none of them and having replaced them with players who have barely an assist or goal to their name.

If Clarke goes, any incoming strikers need to be a reincarnation of Pele to give us the slightest chance of a promotion tilt,

There’s ZERO chance of £20m being reinvested in player spending in sufficient time.

Another Soeakman induced ‘season plod’ if JC is sold is incoming.
