Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

With each passing day the pressure grows and grows on Speakman, I don’t see how he comes back from this if he fails again.

I’ve been willing to wait until the end of the window before hoying criticism at the club but that article saying we haven’t budged from our initial bid is infuriating (if true).

Big big 2 weeks coming up.

They also have wealthy owners now who have put a lot of cash into the club. Why would they cave as the deadline approaches?

Perhaps we have other targets and we don't think Mendy is worth what they're asking for. The Poveda and Browne links were kept quite until we were close to revealing them, I'm hoping it will be the same here and we confirm a striker soon. Frustrating how long it's taken mind.

Yeah when you look at it that way it’s ridiculous. This lad could make a massive difference to us - how much difference has Hjelde made?

I hope so mate, I really do as from the outside looking in it’s that they’ve not done anything since the first bid and are just expecting Caen to cave when they don’t have to.

Let’s see what happens.

They get themselves into these situations as they offer stupid amounts and then hang around like a bad smell when they've been told no.

Sounds like they first approached Caen in June. It's still going on.

They are so indecisive it's unbelievable.

Other clubs get managers and players signed in hours, we work in a timescale of several months.

I struggle to believe it's true tbh. Perhaps he's our primary target, I don't however believe he's our only option.

They identify the target they want and low ball the club, it goes nowhere and then we go for the 2nd or 3rd rate version and repeat. Transfer policy has been pathetic now for 4 consecutive windows.

I fully agree, Speakman was on thin ice before this summer but if he fails again then I don’t know how he comes back from it. Just got to hope and pray that we have someone lined up.

It’s already untenable in my opinion, he’s been exposed as narcissist who knows less about football than the fans. His comments on football have been embarrassing.
