Field of Dreams - Freddie Flintoff

I know of cases where peoples lifes HAVE been changed completely, like being in a wheelchair for the rest of their lives and not recd 1/4 of that amount.
I imagine they weren’t former sporting superstars on big BBC contracts though? It’s based on lost earnings potential as much as anything and the fact it was such a high profile case. You can’t blame him for getting as much as he could from it and you can’t say that it hasn’t changed his life for the worse.

Do clubs still have communal bags of gear nowadays? When I first started playing very few had all there own stuff. Use to be raking about in the gear bag to find two decent pads and bats were regularly passed over as one fella trudged off to the other striding in. I've seen the odd box get exchanged too ha
We were the same, when helmets first started to appear folk would take the p*ss if you bought one, we had one between all of us....no problem, til we played Sheffield Carribean in a cup game, the we were like rats in a sack scrabbling for the helmet lol

And mentally very bad not leaving his house for months
I get all that, but compared to what some have got who have been disabled and in a wheel chair for life, it`s 9 times as much. He is now working again, some who have got paltry amounts of compensation can not work for the rest of their lives.

It's not just a normal person who he's a celeb who had a very high profile job he's obviously going to get a very good payout

All should be treated the same. No one should get more than anyone else with similar life changing injuries just because they are a celebrity. Joe Bloggs with the same injury would have got £1m tops.

Why should he get the same he was on a job where he got more money than Joe bloggs

welled up a couple of times, Adnan's story was heart breaking but loved how they agreed to fast with him, Great to see the big lad talk to those kids at the end too, great show

Adnans story was truly remarkable. Made even more heartbreaking and poignant that it has aired only a few weeks after what has happened in this country. He has more courage than anyone who rioted.

oh and I thought the food looked absolutely immense like! Even the fish.

I could be wrong but I’m sure I read the BBC ballsed up by allowing the stunt without making sure he wore a helmet and also failed to have the necessary medical team available - I think he had to wait an hour for ambulance.

If true that 9 million might have included compensation he might have sued for.

Great programme though, looks like some of the lads let him down in the next episode
