Me too ( in fact three or four !)Enjoyed a pint in the sun outside there yesterday.
Was talking to a nice couple from outside the area who had come in for the gig at the fire station in FriSunderland is now easily just as good as Newcastle for daytime drinking. Other than the Quayside on a sunny day, I can’t think of why I’d want to choose Newcastle over Sunderland at the minute. And I live closer to Newcastle. The added benefit of Sunderland as well is that it’s a smaller centre and more compact so it’s less of a trek to get from one bar to the next. That route from Green Terrace down Low Row, round the Dun Cow, Keel Square and now Sheepfolds (especially when the bridge opens) will be as good as anywhere in the north east imo. And this isn’t even including our beautiful coastline with all its bars and restaurants. Sunderland is honestly underrated.
They loved it -stayed over in hotel -and went to sheepfolds ( class they said ) and then pubs around gig
Loved the two days they were here
We really need to get behind these places if people are able -that weather didn’t half hep
