Good win yesterday and the local media are tripping over themselves to dampen any enthusiasm.

Saints are struggling with FFP given a lot of their expensive buys pre relegation, whereas Brentford are dropping over £25 million of Carvalho.

The amount of clubs that are a realistic step up are slowly decreasing with them spending big elsewhere. PSR may benefit us here. If he’s happy here he may just decide to sign a new deal. We can hope.

I think the one big thing that's working in our favour is he's already had one big move to a premier League side and it didn't work out. Also considering we've given extensions to all our main players I can't believe he won't have been offered one.

Hypothetically speaking, If it was a case of selling now for 20m or next season when there's a year less on his deal for around 10m or 12m, I think I'd take the gamble of keeping him given our struggles to get a centre forward in and the lack of quality strikers around.

He's the one player who can keep us relatively competitive even if sides are doubling up on him.
