Our results were decent in the autumn, then it started to unravel for Mowbray. Mowbray was finding it tough, make no bones about it. That's not a reflection on him, it was the squad Speakman had left him with. It would be difficult for any manager for a sustained period to get results at championship level without championship strikers.

Now we have a lack of belief and momentum from the damage done last season, an inexperienced manager and no strikers.

After 31 games last season, our performance level was almost exactly the same as it was over 46 games the season before, in terms of league position and points/GF/GA per game despite the loss of Stewart/Simms/Amad. Some are fond of saying that we were in relegation form for the last 30 or so games of last season. We weren't:
Games 1-16 - 6th
Games 17-31 - 9th
Games 32-46 - 23rd

Those last 15 games were impacted by injuries and suspensions, managerial chaos/incompetence, and the loss of momentum caused by "plodding on". All of those are in the past. There is no reason why we can't get back to the previous level if Le Bris is even reasonably competent.

Oh pretty much any squad could use additions, I'd like us to get a proper DM, striker who can play the lone role, and I wouldn't be against another CB.

But that doesn't mean we need to underrate what we do have here.

I agree mate, doddsball has clouded our judgement we do already gave some quality

We got 30 points from our last 30 games. This was the joint second lowest points tally during this period. A point per game gets you relegated in the championship over a season. So those saying it was relegation form are absolutely correct, statistically - if you go by the numbers.

I didn't think we'd go down at any point because of the points we had on the board already.

The performance level has definitely dropped last season, even in the earlier games when we were getting results. Mowbray was starting to find it difficult with the lack of reasonable striking issues. Great result yesterday but unless this is addressed properly, it will hurt us again.
