Prediction: first goal against goes in after 12 mins. Booing starts on 13 mins. 85% of the 35,000 crowd gone by 75 mins. We score in 90th min for our customary draw in first game of season.

Rinse and repeat until end of season where we finish 16th.
The difference is this time a bad start will take us down, unless we had an amazing january window to turn it around. So your right, but this time the crowd really do have a track record of failure and speakman and others gone.

Can you show me where I’ve done that you stupid little tit.

Of course you’d say no as it doesn’t fit your narrative.

Had we won 2 games less over 46, 2 we’d have went down, how is that not close to relegation?

I’ll ask you the same question, truthfully and honestly, do you think we were nearly promoted the season before?

What the actual fuck 😂😂😂😂.

I honestly thought I’d read it all on here. Just because we had an ok start in what world were we not nearly relegated? The only reason we weren’t is because of that good start.

Had there been a few more games we were gone. Do you think the FA steps in and stops relegation if you have a good start like 😂.

There’s been teams top of the league after 10 games who’ve dropped man.

You’ve had some pearler excuses in the past pal, but this tops the lot 😂😂😂
I’d say here. On the basis that “a few” is usually 3 by my interpretation. 46 + 3 = 49

I also answered your question, no I do not think we were “almost promoted” the season before nope.

I happen to think we will start well, but if we get off to a poor start, then were likely going down without some serious and radical changes at the top. The club and a section of fans have convinced themselves otherwise and this one will be on yourselves.
I was saying if we start badly we shouldn't be calling for the manager to be sacked after five matches. It wouldn't be his fault, it would be player recruitment, i.e. speakman. Anyway hopefully we won't be in that position.

We’d have still stayed up by 2 points or at worst stayed up on goal difference. We weren’t nearly relegated last season.

We need to do better in the next 46 games than we have in the last 30 (1 point per game.)
I'd snap your hand off for 50 points which is usually survival.

Don’t think anyone denies we have to improve. But we didn’t almost get relegated either. We’re better than 50pts.

The season is 46 games, that’s established before the start. It’s an irrelevant point. What if it was a 40 game season. Or a 55 game one? All irrelevant. Fact is. We weren’t nearly relegated over a 46 game season.
Real ent or not, we were in worse form the second half of it than the entire league, bar Rotherham who were relegated at Easter

We got 56 last season. But we were declining quickly. Last 30 games only a point a game which would translate to under 50. So we had relegation form for 2 thirds of the season. Fortunately that first third meant that we didn't nearly get relegated, as you say.

The main reason why we struggled hasn't been addressed.

That’s why the final table is over 46 games to encompass good and bad spells. The main reason we struggled was utterly dreadful management.

Aye but you need to be able to spot trends when looking at data. And we weren't playing well at the start of the season. Our performance levels had dropped off from the season before. Our results were decent in the autumn, then it started to unravel for Mowbray. Mowbray was finding it tough, make no bones about it. That's not a reflection on him, it was the squad Speakman had left him with. It would be difficult for any manager for a sustained period to get results at championship level without championship strikers.

Now we have a lack of belief and momentum from the damage done last season, an inexperienced manager and no strikers.

The decline was alarming. If we continue in the new season with it we will be in a relegation battle all season as we all know there isn’t any serious money to invest to improve our fortunes.

We have talent in the squad but we’re all waiting for the likes of Cirkin and Alese to get injured to name but 2. Our strength in depth on certain areas is worrying.

We need to start well or it could escalate quickly. A lot of these players will still have scars from the second half of last season.

Fully agree. That's why it was absolutely crucial to get a head coach in and strikers early.
