Durham’s One Day Cup Campaign

I would give Ben Raine a rest. He has played a lot of cricket and he looks to me he is carrying a niggle. He went off for treatment during the last championship match and was off for 46 mins or so. Never seen Ben do that before
Our bowling was a big factor as to why we did so badly last season. We will need Raine.

It’s a much weaker potential line up than the very good run to the final. Which was largely Lees, Clark and Bedders scoring boat loads of runs bar failing in the final v Glamorgan but it’s now very much a second tier competition.
Wasn't Borthwick player of the tournament

Where would you have Ackermann batting?

What about Ackerman?

I’m blaming old age
Yeah not really sure why when you see the stats, how well Clark and Lees batted.

Think the MVP thing they do favours all rounders, like fantasy football.

It does, massively.

I still think Borthwick has something to give though, especially in this competition. His nudge and nurdle style in the middle overs could be important for us.

I forgot we were playing today.

I guess you-know-who started the match thread.

Anyway good start for us with a wicket from Bas in the first over.

Stream is a bit crap. No commentary or score graphic.

Yep I'm afraid your correct.

Good to see Minto getting his debut. As I said in other thread, Worcs decimated and had to draft in a few just to get an XI.

So a good game to bring him in for, hopefully he can have a good impact on the game.

In our group today

Hampshire (H) currently 181/2 from 35.5 after being put into bat by Derbyshire.

Northants (H) currently 142/6 from 33.4 after choosing to bat against Somerset.

We could do with Northants winning, unsure on whether Derbyshire extending lead at top or Hampshire overtaking them would be better.

thought it was top 4 qualifying like T20 but its top goes to semi final and 2nd plays 3rd from other group in 1/4 finals, so would need to finish top 3 to progress, likely needing to win 3/3

Yeah definitely going to need to win all 3. Somerset onto 8 points and Hampshire ahead of their game and if win would move to 8 too.

Didn't even spot Worcs were playing if they win that would be 4 teams on 8 points. Their game is a bit tighter against Kent, Kent probably just ahead.

Kent win and they jump above us and Middlesex onto 6 points and fifth, whereas were both on 5 points.

Another decent score from Ackermann so far.

If he stays till the end we could probably post 250 here.

I reckon 2 wins from 2 and we are in the top 3 as Worcestershire and Hampshire play each other so only one of them can get 12 also Hampshire play Middlesex who are level with us
