Durham Second XI 2024

Hopefully Durham get some play in these two friendlies and to see who plays and who gets the key batting and bowling Positions as a possible indicator as who might get a chance in the 50 over competition.
Drissell must be nailed on to play and looks like he has done as well as anyone in 2Xl t20 this season. Not sure if either Mcallindon or Hogg are fit to bowl yet. Also feels like a big month for Bushnell and Gibson.

Durham won the toss and bowl

BS McKinney
JJ Bushnell
SG Borthwick*
P Coughlin
HS Mustard†
MJ Killeen
MF Ghumman
DM Hogg
SJC McAlindon
OJ Gibson
C Scorer

Umpires: AE Clark & H Stephenson
Scorers: G Maddison & J Ruddick

They are both away games v Northumberland being played in (historical) Northumberland. Nothing to see here.

There has never been anything to see. Always much ado about nothing.

Coughlin first over looked sharp - one that absolutely took off that Mustard couldn’t reach fully.

Wicket for Stan Mcalinden - not sure if it’s his first bowl in a game back since his injury troubles but looks to have a nice rhythm albeit not quite as sharp as he was previously, understandably.

Marcus North milling around in the far corner of the ground being busy on his phone.

I called in for an hour today. Borthwick survived a big LBW appeal first ball. Looked quite straight from where I was, must have hit it.
