SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

Let’s just play in taty sacks painted red and white, as they ‘perform their function’ in distinguishing us from the opposition.

Look at what a brilliant job the club has done with this year’s strips and how well received it’s been. They’ve done a cracking job. Why can’t we expect things to be done properly in other areas? It’s attention to detail. Some people will never see it and others will.

How old are you, five? Can no one have a discussion on here without throwing out insults like a toddler would?
Your making your self look like an absolute tit here like

The strip you play in and a metal bar are not the same things. I'm all for doing jobs properly, investing, etc. and there are other areas of the stadium need proper investment and modernising, but I just don't see why these rails are so terrible.
I was just throwing out a daft example, which you’re right — isn’t equatable.

It’s just indicative of a wider issue we’ve had with the upkeep and improvement of the stadium, where regular maintenance has been ignored to save money and is now gonna cost a fortune to fix. They’re not ‘terrible’ — they’ll make it safer than no rails — it just could’ve been done better. It’s penny-pinching.

Here’s another one… are you three all in a gang?

But why will this cost us more in the long run?
If its a cheaper option but is just as robust and works well.... then it's purely about how it looks.... and in this instance I'm not sure it matters.
It potentially could, if a new owner came in and decided to spend proper money on the stadium one day they’d go ‘that looks shite — rip those pink seats out and the rails they couldn’t even be arsed to paint and let’s put some proper stuff in.’

Might have been answered somewhere amongst all the back and forth, but is there any sign of the new lighting and PA going in? I’m assuming that’s scheduled for the beginning of the new season?
Photo from last weeks Summer Sessions Show shows the new Floodlights installed to the underside of the roof, the majority of the old speaker system gone apart from a few units hanging from the East Stand and all the old Floodlights removed from East Stand Roof ready for the new ones to be installed.

I thought the whole thing is an experiment? Every club that does it will be different and at the end of the "experiment" they'll probably have a good idea of what works and what doesn't. It's not like they've filled the whole ground with the stuff and will never change anything.

Hate to be that person but we don’t have the proper rail seats like, just simply put a metal bar behind the existing ones. Those ones in the video are slightly smaller than the normal seats as well, meaning you get a higher capacity of people in the area.

I genuinely can’t believe some of the things people will twist about like.

People whinging because another stadium’s bit of metal looks better than our stadiums little bit of metal.
Its nor winging mate i know its the default response from some on here to deride people who critique the club!Critique is good for any organization.it identifies weaknesses and strengths and and in my opinion benefits the club and any organisation should welcome it ..Strangly winging is what the you are doing! I am proud of my club and the sol and i want the best for it in all things and will be there long after our present owners and fans are long gone.I personally am not going to be put of critiquing the club i love by a bunch of clowns who perpetually respond by calling fellow fans moaners ,wingers and bed wetters, its purile childish nonsense and i rail against it, always.

They stood up anyway, have done for years.
It's better for away fans especially if there is a mix of seats and standing
ATM everyone stands , which for folk like my dad is a struggle
Now you can have seats where folk will sit down as there will be an area of standing also.
Again no one’s arguing the aesthetics, it’s just not specifically designed rail seating which many clubs are going for. This is a wider point into stadium upkeep and improvements that’s been discussed for a couple of year now. We seem to go for the cheapest option which ends up costing us more in the long run.

The option we have is taking space away from the row, with a potential trip hazard every metre or so. There is no rail seating the seats are exactly the same.

For reference here is Shrewsburys rail seating -

How could you sit in them at half time ? too narrow and the metal rail would hit your head , you would have to lean forward.
They don't seem fit for purpose
Though at least every chair has a bit of metal Infront assigned to that chair

Don’t be ridiculous haha they are used all over Europe

They are probably good then
They just look like you'd hit your head if you sat down !
These would be best though surely - as they look loads narrower so I assume you'd get more fans in?

Ours do look a bit naff in comparison mind
No-one sits there. They stand. It's made it safer. It performs it's function. Unless the rails fall apart people whinging are just looking for a reason to imo.

Half the stadium is concrete, it's not like it's ruining the aesthetics
The other ones do look loads better mind
I don't know about durability , maybe ours are just as durable and will last long , they may even last longer , but the others are far more compact , making the aisles easier to walk down, without metal sticking up from the ground.
