Anderson finished?

I don't really get the point of forcing him to retire.

If you want to give others a chance then do that, but forcibly removing your greatest ever bowler from your options just seems daft.

You don't have to pick him every game or even at all, though in English conditions he's surely still our best bowler.

No different to the treatment dished out to Bairstow and Foakes

I would dare suggest the only player in the current XI who will be playing in Brisbane did not bowl. A folly as a coach

it's a disgrace in my opinion. he's still one of, if not the, best in English conditions.

I don't care who we are playing in a test match we should be playing our best players.

forcing him out leaves a sour taste.

Could you imagine the Aussies doing this to Warney or Glenn McGrath before '06? 🤔

Not really. There is logic behind finding a wicket keeper that is a class bat and has the game to score runs with the tail. We always need to look to improve but Anderson is currently our best bowler

I think Jimmy should have been given the rest of the summer but also there is something fitting that after 21 years he’s bowing out while still performing to a level and still with something to offer. It would have been horrible to witness him struggling through a test or getting carted around the ground by some average batter in his last test.

I think Jimmy is good enough to play on and hence keep some experience, but Woakes as much as I love him, looks jaded.
