Colback or Henderson

Got plenty of likes.
Even the well paid experts, both within and outside the game, get it wrong.
Anyone think that Rigg might not make it as a PL player ? No certainties with anyone.
Colback made it to PL level.
Well I'll put my head on the block and state categorically that Rigg will make it as a PL star.

Tin hat on here but I reckon Colback will be a better player than Henderson. He offers so much more to the team than Henderson did.

His versatility is very useful as well, I thought he was shaky at wing back in the home tie against City but he was immense today.

Henderson always had the potential to give us something different going forward but his work rate and defending were embarrassing at times.
What a grade A whoppa

Just look at all the names who thought colback was better than Henderson many now long gone !Bumping though like hindsight jockeying is not the decent thing to do! but it is funny ......I would someone (i wont do it) to dig up some of the responses to my posts when i called out charlie donald and co as chancers with no money ,spivs, the three amigos, reliant robin driving barrow boys, and a stain on our great club..I dont know about the age groups but i have never seen a player hit a ball with the inside of his foot for so long and so straight before (Terry venablles noticed this as well)its fekking hard to do witout some sort of curl on it and his hip rotator muscles must be made of elastic.

Henderson must be the most successful english player who has faced the most criticism in his career and that for me makes his achievements even better in my book! Fantastic player great mental character and the only blot on his carrer is the lure of the saudi money. It must be hard towards the end of your career to see the gravy train coming to an end (and your income dropping off a cliff)not to accept one more ride on the saudi special to put even more money on your bank account!

I think bumps like this are great and i'm a victim of it on this occasion. What is interesting is at the time of the initial comments there was barely a dissenting voice. Colback was having a purple patch at the time including a blinding performance against Man City IIRC and Henderson's first year at Liverpool was going very poorly. Then it all changed

Let's hope someone doesn't revisit your comment ten year later. For me, I want to see the lad starting games and not come on with 20 or so minutes remaining.

I was shocked when Liverpool paid that much. I rated Henderson but not that highly. He could do a bit of everything, but with the exception of his undoubted energy in being able to bomb around all the pitch, he looked nothing special. But, he was an established player in a PL side, albeit a struggling one.

Ginger pirlo  lapping it all up daft wankers
The fact piston used to lap it all up makes it all the better, strange man him

When the OP was posted Henderson wasn't the player he would become.
Anybody with a pair of eyes should have been able to see the potential. I liked Colback here but it was obvious who was the most talented of the two as soon as Henderson broke into the first team.

Yet nobody with a pair of eyes argued that when it was posted at the time ;)

Colback looked the more tidy player at a young age I thought. It wasn’t until Henderson left I realised it was because Henderson passed forward and Colback was backwards and sideways!
