Regis le Bris - confirmed

With things like not getting any staff or transfer support, he was on a bit of a hiding to nothing.
Beale brought on 95% of his own problems and I won’t have anyone persuade me otherwise.

He knew the job he was taking and started from day 1 making himself out to be an absolute cock, people disliked the man more than the coach which speaks volumes.

Also hope he has a burner account on here, too.

In both cases, the transfers still left him without a viable striker, and the lack of staff was moronic than anything else. I'm not justifying him in any way, he was the wrong person at the wrong time and an absolute cockweasel at the same time, but the club hardly made for an ideal background to succeed. Better managers than heal would have struggled under the same circumstances, whether he was willing to accept the situation or not.

Just read a really long interview with him from his Lorient days, speaks well and sounds very methodical. Not a fan of overuse of data and xG though.

I'm very wary of expected goals because they miss so many things. With xG, there has to be a shot. If there isn't, the danger isn't measured. A great cross along the goal line that nobody touches, it's a super-dangerous situation, but it's worth 0.00. Conversely, a shot from a very tight angle, where the goalkeeper is in total control, generates danger according to the data. I use stats, but they don't tell the whole story about player commitment. For example, if a goalkeeper outperforms, it's above all because he's very good. The same goes for a striker who's going to be very successful because he's very good.
Wouldn’t xThreat solve that though? Obviously just using xG has limitations but in terms of data you can use it conjunction with other sets

I don’t and still don’t get the personal abuse beale got from day 1

Is if something to do with Celtic or rangers?

Hopefully more to follow !
That's not to say there won't be any following but Lorient are having a big restructure after Le Bris left and a bunch of staff connected to him have been leaving. The one who looked most likely to join him, Cahuzac, signed a new contract with them.
