I know Afghanistan are a decent team nowadays but it's not so long ago they were going through lots of qualifiers to get to the final stages of tournaments, and regularly getting a thrashing when they did get there. This is why I'm glad the tournament has been extended, another 12-20 years and it could be the USA, Nepal or Oman in the semi finals.

It’s a f*cking disgrace how India ALWAYS get what they want. The date of the tournament, the start times, the fact they’ve been guaranteed to only play at Guyana in the latter stages of the competition - absolute shambles when the competition is NOT in their home conditions.

Im surprised the pitches for this world cup werent flown in from India rather than from Australia.

That’s the bit that’s unfair. It’s standard for ICC tournament rules to give a washed out semi final to the higher placed team from the group phase. It’s not standard these days not to have a reserve day.

Well they did, they were off just long enough to reset the target to a 19 over one. But I think the point is that it would’ve made no major difference whether Bangladesh were just behind or just ahead at the rain break, because the game got played to a more or less normal finish anyway. It didn’t end at that point on DLS.
