So many young players out there just need that chance. Granted a lot won't take it, but those that do, it's worth the risk.

We've let a lot of players leave over the years without giving them a chance and they've went on to have better careers than the level we're at now.

Egan, Houraine being two off the top of my head.

The thing with Egan and Houraine and Nial Quinn has since spoken about this, is when they were here we were a premier league side full of international players.

They still at the time had a lot more development to do before they were at that level.

Yeah, all credit to Egan for going down the leagues and working his way back up but we can't hang onto players for 5/6 years in case we decline so much as a club that they would be useful. I believe Hourihane wanted to leave.

I'm not saying he won't be better but I doubt someone who looked average for Hartlepool is currently better, you mustn't think we are getting promoted soon

Can tell you've never been around football. Every single player struggles in a men environment at first, defenders especially.

He was in bad team, at toxic club

I'm a football fan , Chris Rigg never struggled I wasn't meaning to comment of his general ability more we can't compare him to Hjelde and he's probably not ready for championship level

Probably the only 2 mind.

Coventry keeper as well.

I think we can compare him to hjelde. We should compare them in preseason to see who is better suited to the way we want to play.

Exactly. Egan never got to the level we were when we released him (we had the likes of John Mensah). He was obviously well rated hence why a League One club signed him but he was way off what we needed at that time.

Iirc the actual year we released him a few fans were calling for him to be given a chance. Him and laing, who got injured?
