SMB Tennis thread

Big call that.

He seems to have taken the wind out of him.

Alcaraz is on fire at the moment!
Absolutely mate. He seemed dejected and that game was only going one way after it, even with the break left.

What a point that was in that game just gone with all the returns from Alcatraz and smashes from Zverev though. Great stuff

Jack Draper new British men's number 1 on Monday morning for the first time, most likely be at either #31 or #32. About to beat Nakashima here to qualify for the third final of his career and second of the year. Hopefully get over the line for the first time.

He's serving absolute bombs this week, 60 aces across four matches with 31(!) against Tiafoe. Kid's gonna be a problem for a lot of players on grass with his big game and movement hopefully.

Well you can't say they've manufactured a good draw for Murray for his last time here  shite draw in singles (if he plays) and a shite draw in dubs with Jamie as well.

Sinner v Berrettini R2... ouch. Probably two of the best four players in the draw. Sinner's first Slam as a #1 seed and he's probably got a worse draw all the way through than Fed, Djokovic or Rafa ever had

Swiatek's draw for a #1 seed is grim as well.

That point by Alcarez to win the second set was hard to believe

I also love when he shouts Vamos and join in with him

What a player he is

Massive bollocks on Dan Evans, proper vintage Andy Murray fight right there in first round of US Open.

Leading 2-1 in sets but breathing out his arse from early in the fourth set. Went to a decider and he goes 4-0 down in the fifth set cramping up and stretching off after just about every point, saves four break points for 0-5 (with another two at 2-4 and 4-4) and then rattles off six games in a row with an absolute monster rally on match point to beat #23 seed Karen Khachanov.

Might well have been the last Slam match of his career if he'd lost, what a f***ing win!

The longest match in US Open history.
