Regis le Bris - confirmed

Fairlplay. I get the personality mismatch and disconnect that it caused.

But If you put both CVs on the table up to the point they were appointed, I think Beale's was better. I don't think it was good enough to get the Sunderland job, don't get me wrong.

Though Beale had coached in Brazil, been at a huge club in rangers, though failed. Coached at Liverpool and Chelsea. Had championship experience at QPR.
Happy to admit it was vibes based. No one had a good word to say about him, except the man himself and KS of course.

This fella is a completely unknown quantity. I hope in 18 months we are in the PL and it’s panic stations on here in case he gets poached!

I get what you mean and it’s fair enough in a way. But you can’t deny having Dodds as interim caretaker gives the impression they’re looking hard at who to bring in after and now it looks a bit like they either didn’t OR went all in for Still and presumed he’d come
From what Phil smith said.

Massive review into what went wrong in appt Beale. As in how they got to that decision.

They then decided to tweak the criteria in what they were looking for. He alluded to including to actually consider how much a personality counts.

They gave it to dodds as they believed short term pain would get them a better manager in the summer.

They then started the search in April.

They had a 5 man list.

Still was first choice. That delayed a lot of the search.

They believe either Still or this lad is a better candidate than they could have gotten last year or when Beale was appt/sacked.

He did a video on YouTube covering this.
No. I mean if he’s sacked mid-season, Dodds would be interim once again..
Would he? We don’t even know that.

Just don't see how in a 2 year career.

A lot of that is obviously the club trying to spin things when it’s been less than straight forward. All clubs do it.

Just got to hope they get the whole thing back on track.

I agree, in the short term the fans need to back him and the team, but this regime and those previous have this terrible knack of picking unpopular managers that are always going to be up against it if they don’t hit the ground running. People talk about a new manager bounce but I reckon if you take our last 15 managers you could count on one hand those that won their first game. Fans just get frustrated that so many times a fresh start turns into a damp squib.
It was great when we got new managers and they came in and beat the mags early, 2nd games possibly? Di Canio was first then Poyet, Big Dick and Big Sam 😎 Sadly Beale in his 5th game failed to do what the previous new managers had done and it's gone downhill from there ever since.

Please anyone is this 100% over the line , confirmed with out any doubt ?

I need a good nights Kip
Romano has posted about it with no caveats, which is as good as confirmed.

Would expect him to be announced Monday. First day of pre-season innit? 😎

Same as any punt really. Look at McKenna. Be hell on if we appointed him from Man U.
For every McKenna there's a lot of gambles that don't pay off.

We need someone to deal with with the difficulties that Speakman puts on the head coach. I think that takes experience, like a Tony Mowbray.

Never heard of him up until now. Had a quick look and he was relegated this season with Lorient ffs.

I hope we don’t get him, as this will be a disaster of an appointment.
