Regis le Bris - confirmed

He the only manager ever to be relegated with a team like?

There's a ridiculous amount of examples of managers getting relegated with teams and going on to

Plays good, attacking football. Well respected. Known for developing young players. Still is much younger, but also seems like he may be a bit of a bluffer (time will tell) in terms of how he leverages himself. They all have pros and cons and are relatively untested, I’m going to give him a chance before judging.

Given Regis apparently asked to leave before last season because he wasn’t happy and they forced him to stay means a big asterisk on the relegation for me.
Does he? They average 1.2 goals per game? Conceded the most goals in the league last year. Well respected by who for what and what’s his record of developing young players?
He was pretty average/poor in his first season apart from a brilliant start.

Of course most will give him a chance doesn’t mean it can’t be pointed out it looks a strange appointment on the face of it.

30 % win rate, didn't start managing until 2 years ago when he was 46, and he's just relegated Lorient.

Fkn hell, but if he's hired i don't suppose we could have expected anything other than this calibre.
These are Lorients league win percentage the past few seasons - Le Briss only in charge for last 2.
23-24 - 21%
22-23 - 39%
21-22 - 21%
20-21 - 29%
19-20 in second division
18-19 in second division
17-18 in second division
16-17 - 26%

On the face of it seems like he basically did what is expected of Lorient maybe slightly overachieving in 22/23

In probable order of who they wanted:

1 Will Still
2 Maric
3Pascal Jansen
4 Cifuentues
5 Liam Rosenior
6 Regis le Bris

Why all of a sudden has the Sunderland Echo yet again seemingly on behalf of the club come out and inferred he was on a shortlist of five!! Was he really, does anyone genuinely believe this guy was a prime target for the club? It smacks of a desperate appointment. I would suggest most would have any of the others mentioned above way ahead of this guy. You could argue that you could add Lampard and Heckingbottom to that. A huge and massive gamble, imho after months of reviewing who was out there, I cannot believe this is the best that the owner could come up with, no coincidence he is French!!

I didn't expect them to be paying Potter's wages, but we couldn't even make a good enough offer to attract the likes of Will Still, Rosenior etc. we've gone bargain basement however it's spun.
But you don't know that do you? Your just guessing. Still may have wanted to test himself in Europe. No one knows if we were interested in Rosenior.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Régis Le Bris has agreed to become the next Sunderland manager. The head coach will leave FC Lorient this summer after failing to keep the club in the top flight of the French league in his second season in charge of the club.

I’m just going off what people who know better than me are saying about him. I barely know anything about him aside from that, mind you that isn’t stopping plenty from declaring him a failure before he’s even got the job.

The vast majority would have been very happy with Big Sam returning and he got relegated in his last proper job, with West Brom. Even in his last role he had four games with Leeds and drew one lost three.

None of us have any idea how Le Bris will do but saying he's been relegated is not particularly relevant, just as Beale's win rate and being league runners up wasn't.
Come on, it’s the only job he has had. Allardyce has had a number of other successful jobs it’s a ridiculous comparison.

Who is that?
I know nothing either, hoping there is more to it than meets the eye.
