Forthcoming gigs.

Going to see The Fat White Family at the Boiler Shop in Newcastle, this Saturday.
Anyone seen them already on this tour ?
Any good ?
Going to this as well. Not seen any reports from the tour, but I think they might wrap it up after this so hoping they can still make it a good night.

Outstanding - Weezer had no chat at all just blasted through about 19 songs - all sing along classics

Pumpkins were loud ! New guitarist Kiki Wong is a good addition and they played all the belters aswell ( Today, Disarm, BWBW, Cherub Rock, 1979, Zero etc) but threw in a lot more obscure stuff aswell which was just as good.
Weezer were tremendous, every single song was a banger. Smashing Pumpkins were a bit flat in comparison. Venue was fantastic, amazing sound.

Did anyone go to see the Fat White Family at the Boiler Shop in Newcastle, last night ?
Thought they were excellent, although the sound wasn't great.
Lead singer was obviously a fan of Iggy Pop, but full of energy and was into the crowd on the 2nd song.
Thought there would be a bigger crowd, but a good night out...

I was near the front and although the sound was bad I thought the gig was still great as a spectacle. Tried and failed to avoid Lias when he came in to the crowd smeared in butter or whatever it was. Moved back a little bit after that.

Got tickets to see The Pixies in August for father's day. Looking forward too it as have never seen them before. Got a few at the end of the year. Biffy Clyro playing Blackened Sky in full, Interpol playing Antics in full, Bob Vylan and Idles all within 2 weeks!

Lias always puts on a good show. They’re probably musically tighter than they’ve ever been, but there’s just something missing without Saul. Still, was a good gig and decent set list not overly heavy on the latest album which was a bit average.

Few cans , strange set up ,low stage and stepped seats at the back then everyone stands on the floor and blocks their view
Aye, don't think you'll have a great view from the first row especially. Drinks wise; you could carry them from Cluny 1 but good bloody luck getting a few pints up and down them stairs intact!

They were good but aye Saul and Nathan are definitely a miss. Sauls album from last year was a belter did you catch him at the cluny ?

I didn’t. Only really listened to that album a couple of times, with it not being available on Spotify etc.

I seen him post that there is another Insecure Men album coming out. That first album is probably me favourite from any of the FWF side projects.

Yep, was there and they were highly entertaining. Went to Xerox on the quayside after and chatted to them there too. But by that time we were slightly drunk, and way past our bedtime.

email just landed from macca to say the Got Back Tour has added new dates... been waiting for this for ages now! fecker's playing Uruguay, Argentina, Chile & Peru in October... not the fecking dates i was expecting! where's the SOL on this list?!
Announced dates at London's O2 and Manchester's Co-op in December.

I was expecting summer stadium gigs...unless they're to follow.

Foo Fighters were epic last night !

Josh is a brilliantly good drummer, touching to see Dave get emotional at times but an insanely good 3 hour set
off down to london next weekend for this, reviews have been good so really looking forward to saturday night!

This is the thing like. I'd have possibly preferred a good outdoor summer gig, but I've never seen him before and fancy crossing him off the list.

think i'll be selling a kidney if i get tickets, i'll have to buy three...
aye it won't be cheap like. I've just booked one of them 'book now, pay on the day' hotels in Manchester just incase end up going. Probably won't, but figured best to get the room sorted whilst it wasn't too egregiously priced.
