Liam Rosenior

Up and coming coach with good experience behind him, 2/5 in betting now so looks nailed on

Hope so, I put £50 on him at lunchtime. I do believe he will be appointed, wouldn’t have been my choice by a long way but the lad deserves all our support, hope the club gives him the tools to do the job including a decent transfer budget and be allowed his own staff🤞

One of the resident moaners going ott again.

It doesn’t smack of deaperation at all. He finished just outside the play offs in his first full season as a manager with a team he kept up the year before. If anything it’s more pragmatic than desperate.

Challinor or the bloke from St. Mirren would be desperate.
You have previous for calling everyone who doesn't agree with your opinion a moaner,Rosenior he won't be our first choice, nor second choice or even 3rd or 4th if you believe the little information that is out there. When Mowbray was sacked both the owner and Speakman said it was because they wanted someone to take us to the next level, no plan, no due diligence on who to replace him however and we end up with Beale. Now how on earth can that appointment be judged in any positive light, why do you think posters and supporters are sceptical with what comes out of their mouths, especially looking at the failures in the last two transfer windows.
So now over one hundred days since Dodds was appointed for the third time, with Speakman happy to plod along until the end of the season, you expect everyone to be positive, trust the people who have fed the supporters bullshit in the last 12 months and to trust the club.
I hope to God whoever they bring in gets the assurances that they want with regards to the coaching staff, recruitment and a free reign to stamp their mark on our young inexperienced players. If not then I'm afraid we are going to be in the same situation as last season, knee jerk decisions, poor recruitment and sackings left right and centre. KLD made his statement about improving things both on and off the pitch, they better get it right starting with the new head coach.

The best football I've seen Sunderland play for decades was under the stewardship of "another sacked championship reject".
Aye, but that doesn't mean we should keep doing it. Or that it should take this long

They got lucky with Mowbray

Absolutely mate, yes we are short of decent candidates, we remain a huge club, sadly because of how we are being ran and the perception of our DOF, so called model and a lack of ambition in the transfer market is proof as to why we are at in the recruitment of the most important man we are going to employ.
The most important man is disposable with this lot. Sticking rigidly to a flawed plan. Anyone who won't sing to their tune won't get a look in. Great way to attract the best talent.mind.

We were an utter, utter shambles this season and we packed up and fucked off in Feb and Hull only won 3 more than us.

Absolutely spot on. The sacking of Mowbray to be replaced by Beale was a decision that totally and utterly defied belief. I would only add you refer to the last two transfer windows, I think it’s three, when TM was asking the club repeatedly in Jan 23 to help his young team with the signing of a proper CF and DCM player, he was ignored, Speakman knew best!! In the last three windows we have signed I think 18 or so players, only two Bellingham and Ekwah are regular starters. We have signed quantity in lieu of quality. Of the players we have signed in the last three windowed excluding the lads above I don’t think any of them will start 30 games in a Sunderland shirt.

Decent transfer budget?

He will have no budget as all the players are bought by Speakman.

Rosenior will work with what Speakman gives him.

As for bringing his own staff - that seems very unlikely. the smart money is on Dodds, yet again, being the assistant.

I hope so mate, its's going to be another shit season if they don't.
Is this year 4 we're on now of the 5 year plan to take us back to the promised land?
At this point it feels like we're looking and heading down and not up.
I really hope I'm wrong and we end up being pleasantly surprised by a decent appointment and can get moving in the right direction. Forgive me if I appear to not trust them to deliver on their promises.

I know I agree with you. KLD says they will learn from their mistakes I hope so, if not we wont remotely challenge for even a play off position next season.

The excitement of appointing a new head coach has been completely drained by the snails pace that this is taking to get done. It's almost as if they are going through the motions and are appointing someone because they have to. That's the impression I'm getting from this diabolical period.

Speakman said we had to move quick to get Mundle signed in January but there is no emergency whatsoever in appointing a new head coach, it's just plain weird.

I was being generous not including the window that brought in Ekwah, Anderson,Lihadji and Gelhardt on loan, especially when, as you said the coach at the time was ignored wanting a replacement for Evans and Stewart who were both injured. With regards to Evans replacement, the club had 3 transfer windows to bring in a dcm which they failed to do, and as soon as Evans was fit he was shown the door. Beale and also Dodds mentioned what was lacking within the squad. It's either the coaching staff are being ignored or the people running the club think they know better.

The latter…. and sadly they don’t! It’s either arrogance, incompetence or possibly a bit of both.

If it is Rosenior then it merely confirms what others have been saying for months about the ownership being clueless and sticking to a flawed “yes” man plan. Months without a manager, the whole of Europe to scour for a replacement and end up with someone recently sacked by a Championship rival…beyond pathetic management by those in charge!

Anybody looking at us last season and the decisions made must have some serious doubts
Coaches talk to each other and whilst a lot of it stays out of the media (because if you blab ne club will hire you:never mind nda's its a self imposed code of silance until memoir time)but i doubt our setup and safc in genaral does not have a good reputation amongst coaches!no ex coach will come out directly and call speakman a tool and the set up at safc shambolic .the may hint but thats all!

Boring football that.

Doing plenty of research on his ideas last night after the ‘boring’ comments. Some will like and and some won’t but his philosophy is close to an ex manager of ours, Gus Poyet. “If the opposition don’t have the ball they can’t score” and when it’s right it looks great but when not people will moan. There is a talk-in on YouTube where he is describing it and asking the fans to trust it.

Will be plenty of moments like the clip here and plenty yelling ‘lump it forward’. The players we have I think will enjoy it as we have a lot of young technical players. He might just get the best out of them.
