Djokovic pulls out of the tournament injured
Gutted I can only give this 1 like.
Depending on the severity he may miss Wimbledon and the Olympics, dare say any tear no matter how small would realistically take more than 4 weeks to heal to make Wimbledon
Ive got money on Ruud outright so I’ll take this news.
Alcarez is one a different level tonight, Tsitipas has no answer so far.
Tsitsipas has done well to get back into this set, arguably on top now but can't afford to go 2 sets down
Could be doubtful for Wimbledon.
Us Federer fans can only pray

It does make me laugh how often over the years we've seen Djokovic and Rafa beat good players and win tournaments when they're half crippled. Gives you a canny idea of how much better they were (along with Federer and Murray) than everyone else. 37 year old beating someone ranked top 30 from two sets to one and a break down at a Slam with a torn meniscus ffs  Fed and Murray did it to a certain extent at times but their big injuries were more them being old men who can't stand up straight never mind play tennis. Fed's second half of 2013 basically reads 'take a break for a couple of months you daft owld get', think he even said as much!

There's next to no chance Djokovic plays Wimbledon I'd say if the injury's as bad as it appears, Olympics is about a billion times more important to him than Wimbledon. Wonder if they prepare the courts at RG differently for the Olympics now because of this injury

I think Sinner will lose to Alcaraz but do we start whispering about a calendar year Slam if he gets past him?

I don't see how Djokovic wins another slam now ,has been showing signs all year he is on the decline and even before his injury he didn't look anywhere near his best this tournament.
I think Sinner and Alcaraz are a level above him now and they are only going to get better . I would like Sinner to beat Alcaraz on Friday , I like them both but Alcaraz gets all the hype so would be good to see Sinner win. I actually make Sinner slight favourite based on what I have seen this tournament but the bookies disagree .

Fifth set here we go...

Not been a classic in terms of performance levels so far admittedly but can't ask for more than a five setter between these two.

I love watching Alcatraz play tennis . His outlook, skill and personality entertain me greatly

Well done Carlitos

Swiatek's last nine sets read 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, 6-2, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 and 6-1. Played the current Wimbledon champ, the current US Open champ and the player ranked 5th in the 2024 rankings in them matches

She's most likely gonna suffer one or two more shock losses than Rafa over the next decade with it being best of three rather than best of five but the level of dominance really isn't gonna be far off. Only 23 and already the same amount of Slams as Sharapova and Hingis & only 2 behind Venus and Justine Henin.

Sabalenka, Rybakina and Coco are great but Ash Barty retiring at 25 stopped women's tennis having an elite rivalry.

And yet weirdly should really have lost to Osaka!

Good to see Osaka back. Hopefully that performance against iga gives her confidence for Wimbledon

Got the makings of a classic this.

Might explain why there was hardly anyone in attendance at her quarter final, I couldn't believe how so few people were there

My god please don't let the German bellend win today.

Tallon Griekspoor is going to have to pay for the atrocities he committed in the fifth set from *4-1 last week.

Bit surprised how much Alcaraz's forehand has been bullied, head seems like it's gone at the minute as well. Normally say those two things about Zverev in a big match rather than the bloke at the other side of the net.
