Too soon for Henderson to come back?

Staggering U turn after the pelters he got on here when he took the blood money
Aye I'm sure it was a different response to this thread. If this was a player returning to the mags (or even a Leeds/Boro or any other clubs SAFC don't like) then it would be pelters coming from even more posters.

“This is always an occasion that makes me especially proud to be club captain because I could not be stronger in my belief that the values we are celebrating – unity, togetherness, inclusion – could not be more in keeping with those of our club and our city.

“I have regularly worn rainbow laces and today will be no exception because this kind of visible support can only have a positive impact. It also sends the powerful message that football is for everyone and the more of us who can take this message back into our homes, workplaces and daily lives the better.

“The more we can understand, the more we can learn and the more we can stand together on issues like this, the more we will move towards the kind of inclusive society that is more welcoming of everyone. “Football has its part to play and, as I said, I couldn’t be more proud to play a small part of my own.”

Yet he went to Saudi claiming he was going there to grow football. His announcement video had his pride coloured Captain's armband greyed out. So much for growing football as he ended up being a puppet for Saudi coming out with this crap yet look at the tweet above about Qatar.

What if was Harry Kane who'd said and done all the things Henderson like some shown above but was then coming back to the mags from Saudi? Can anyone really say that this thread would contain the same views from posters wanting Henderson back?

It's amazing how fan loyalty can change opinion if it benefits the club, with the mags and the begging and welcoming their Saudi owners being at the top of examples of being 'blinded by loyalty'. A tamer example is the mag reaction to Tonali's betting, yet outside the club the responses were different, especially on here. The same mags defending Tonali were probably saying shite about Toney's betting but when it's one of their own then attitudes and responses can often change from fans.

Whilst I agree with you I think if he apologises and says he’s learnt a valuable lesson then maybe that’s fair enough?

If he's coming back it'll be becuase he's coming to coach and eventually head coach .... hes on a huge deal with ajax and won't terminate it unless he's sees a better opportunity... which could only be as a head coach

This from January
"Just this week, Ajax made ex-Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson comfortably their highest-paid player after he joined following a sorry six-month spell in Saudi Arabia. Henderson will earn around £120,000 a week in Holland, around £50,000 a week more than the club's next-highest earner."

He's got 2.5 years left on that deal

I don't think that he's learned a thing tbh. All he ever seemed to do was dig himself into a deeper hole when he was questioned about his move to SA. Completely unable to see why it didn't paint him in a great light given his previous support and championing of LGBTQ causes etc.

It's not as if he wouldn't have been aware of the kerfuffle it caused is it? It was eventually everywhere once the news about him possibly going there came out but he still chose to go at the end of it all. He even claimed he was going to 'grow' the football which was just lip service for the Saudis.

You get people on here saying "Who wouldn't go there for that much money as Joe Bloggs would" or they know someone who has worked there so asking why is Henderson any different? The huge difference is they didn't say or do what Henderson did. He wasn't short of cash either and he could have easily got a multi million £ contract in the Premier League or Europe. He was on the equivalent of £5m at Ajax and could have easily got £100k in the Premier League before he left. Yet chose to get a few more million a year to go over to Saudi instead.

He didn't make a mistake and learned a lesson, he knew what he was doing. That World Cup video is pathetic as why on earth would he do that after all he'd said and done in the past? He won't have done it for free and the sad part is that he probably doesn't agree with the Saudi culture and probably did genuinely support the causes in some way yet he sold his morals and fucked it all off.

Like I said if this was a mag, or Kane coming back to the mags, then some posters views on here would be far different and this shows how people can be blinded by loyalty and the whataboutery comments that comes along with it.

He’s finished man. We need to stop bringing people back to see out their career.
I agree with you in the sense that I don’t want Henderson back. However it can work to buy an experienced player to help bring on a young team. Strachan when he went to Leeds was probably the best example I can think of.

Ajax are skint after not qualifying for Europe. Quite a few reports saying they will try and offload him and Bergwijn as their 2 highest earners.

....age asset who needs to redefine his shit.

These hendo rumours and our inability to land a coach ...feel like they might be interconnected... wonder what odds you get on hendo for head coach

He’s a hypocrite, but so fuck. He knows it and is probably constantly thinking about it/ reminded of it.

It doesn’t bother me in the slightest and I certainly wouldn’t cry about it if he ever comes back here.

Mental how much some people let others affect their lives, particularly someone they don’t know and aren’t ever likely to know personally.

f***ing get owa it man.

You’ve said more than once that JH wasn’t bothered about the money …. Yet he signed for big money in Saudi and Ajax.

Why did he go to Saudi… it certainly wasn’t to further his career.
Ajax, he went there to avoid UK taxes on the Saudi money “ he wasn’t bothered about “.

If JH had offered to play for us for pennies, it’d have been big news.

You alluding to the fact you’re in the know and know all these secrets blah de blah …. Anyone could say that, evidence and proof is what matters, not your hearsay.
There's nowt like taking what someone has posted out of context.
