The Pep myth

Poor management letting the players get pissed up after last Sunday, no matter how insignificant some might think it is they definitely didn’t perform yesterday
Did Grealish play?
Some Willie w.nkers on here say he couldn't do it with a lesser team. First season as manager he takes control of Barça B and turns them into the league champions without spending a penny.
Stick that up your cold wet night stokey as.holes.

Haaland did and he was pictured absolutely hammered and he played like he was still, it was 5 days ago etc etc, tiny percentages at the top level and if they wait 5 days they can get as drunk as they like as there no real matches for months for city and at least 3 weeks for international

They all did look a bit off.
Someone on here said that medically speaking, it takes 10 days to completely overcome the effects of d hangover.

No wonder I feel like shite all the time. Never go more than 5 days without a drink

Fair point like. Man United looked well up for it and stopped city playing. Ten Hag got it spot on

Exactly man united where well up for it and executed their plan perfectly and city where that bit off, united and ten haags problem is United fans expect them to be a front foot team,
they will except winning like yesterday in a important match, who wouldn’t but when they do try and play like the aggressor like this season they lose a lot of games

I’m sure I’ll get tons of abuse for this, so I’ll caveat in advance. He’s clearly a top coach. This is more a “is he as good as he thinks he is?” post

it’s now 10 years since he won the champions league. Despite having pretty much unlimited money at City and coaching Bayern, one of the biggest clubs on the planet

He got somewhat fortunate with Barca as he inherited arguably the best player ever in his prime

look at his City numbers. He’s been great domestically. But he should be when you look at what he’s bought. The transfer fees are from memory, so tell me I’m wrong

Ederson £35m (one of the highest fees ever at the time)
Walker £50m
Mendy £50m (even without the news he’s been crap)
Cancelo £40m+
Dias, Stones, Ake, Laporte at a combined £220m ish
Rodri £60m
De Bruyne £57m
Silva £35m
Jesus £27m
Mahrez £60m
Grealish £100m
Torres £25m

there will be more. Probably only one looks a shocker, but given the money surely he has to win more?

who has he sold at a profit? Sane?

who has he developed? Foden?

I’ll get pelters, but 10 years since a CL. With that money. He’s not the genius he thinks he is?

Op knars his onions

Champion League winners 22-23.
Premier League winners six out of the last seven years.
Yes he's shit....🤔

Let’s be blunt here, anyone could manage Man City and win everything.

Let’s see Pep manage with no transfer budget in Division 2.

Then we will know if he’s any good.

I could run Barca, Bayern and Man City for gods sake.

You think Steve Bruce or Ian Holloway would win 4 premier league titles in a row with Klopp's Liverpool as rivals? You reckon Paul Sturrock would have a season where he manages to get 100 points?

Those Man City owners must be absolute mugs paying Guardiola all that money when they could just get somebody in who manages in the Northern League and get the same results

The same rubbish you hear spouted is that anyone could win the league with x amount spent. It isn’t championship manager in your parents spare room, there is a little bit more to management. Instead as what seems to be part of human nature in this country people love building someone up and the knocking them back down from their perch. Even if Pep was to retire tomorrow he will go on to be regarded as one of the best of all time. In a nutshell it’s moments like this you either trust the opinions on him of Jürgen Klopp who can’t say enough about him or Gary from Fulwell who work in finance who says he’s shite, wether he’s to be respected as such.

Brian Clough the greatest manager we never had.

“Pass it to someone wearing red and every now and then kick it in the net”

It’s that simple.
