CC : Durham v Somerset

Brilliant from these two to wrestle a bit of momentum back in our favour, showing some of our more established batsmen how it should be done.

Let's hope the bowlers repeat their performance from yesterday.

Umpires guessing again. That’s two absolute shockers already for our boys in this game. The bowler wasn’t even interested.
He's averaging 20 and doesn't back himself to bowl.

They're all been minging this season apart from Bedingham and Robinson if it helps.

I’m not disputing his performances, I’m merely pointing out that I’ve noticed he seems to get far more criticism for his failings than others.

To put it another way, my view is that he has less room for manoeuvre.

Regardless, he’s probably going to benefit from the enforced break that’s upcoming.
Somerset are well known for playing to the letter not the spirit.

You can say that again
On the plus side for us there is still movement available obviously stil moisture in the wicket.

Hopefully it continues throughout today, as others have noted - the pitch is down towards the river and traditionally there is more life in pitches over that way.
Another guess by the umpire.

I know you’ve already seen my comments above on it, but wanted to highlight the point. Absolute disgrace they’ve been in this game.
Runs scored after the 7th wicket fell...

Somerset 87
Durham 85

But the bulk of that for us was after the 9th wicket

The umpiring is becoming a massive concern for the game. I appreciate it's a tricky job but this guess work needs to stop. If you're not 100% sure then you don't give it and for me when you take such a time to make a decision then you're not 100% sure. This is happening far too often now and it's simply guess work from the umpires which is a huge concern for the integrity of the game. I've been saying this for several years now. If in doubt you shouldn't be guessing.
