I find it quite charming that someone wants to see the best in absolutely everything and everyone. It’s a nice character trait.

But sometimes, f***ing hell, recognise that things are a bit shit. And that people are arseholes.

I think there has to be some acceptance by me on this one and listen to the points been made by posters and accept that Buttler has put across his words in the wrong way.

The first paragraph by @Turner the Cat on post 297 does make sense and is fair enough and he makes a good point.

Like any cricketer you get picked by the selectors in whatever position and give your best for your side.

What were you expecting him to do get picked but say I am not playing for the test side?
When someone gets picked for any red ball side as a wicketkeeper it natural means they keep another out of the side!

I think the above is part of problem mate, things get lost and lose sense of perspective. It doesn’t have to be all one way or the other.

I know I am the minority but I think the IPL a brilliant competition 87 thousand people watched just the play off on Wed.

Having the worlds top players coming together for a short format tournament in a designated window is great entertainment for me.

But there needs to be balance IPL should be 6 week window tops.

We need to accept for me the changing face of the game and get the balance right between white ball cricket and red ball cricket and accept fans like both.

Rather than constant bickering between the two

But it isn't, it's over two months, and it's only going one way.

The same thing will happen when the 16.4 is privatised, and you will want a pause in international cricket then as well.

So how much time, in total, do you think will appease the franchise monster?

Well that’s what we have to be careful off.

It’s concerning agreeably that it’s getting too big.

Like I said it’s about working together to get balance right not this constant slagging off of one or another.

Both here to stay hopefully

Well yeah whether they were wrong or right to pick him is a different debate, but you can’t blame him for keeping the gloves too long, you get picked you turn up to play?

As what he said I agree he worded wrongly.

As said earlier he has had two major competitions as captain and won one, and think the failure in the one day World Cup was more down to nearly all our top players playing badly as individuals none of them turned up.

All about opinions mate

Just to confirm though, you want a complete a cessation in international cricket while the IPL and 16.4 are on?

Dropping the 16:4 is the first thing that should be done and they should have invested in T20 it would have been much better.

I mean the 16.4 attendances are madness many of the tickets are free

And it’s not massively watched on sky anymore had a little wow moment from a few

Of course it's about opinions; it would be a pretty pointless forum if we all agreed on every topic but opinions should be formed on the evidence available . Statistically results under Buttler are vastly inferior to Morgan's with virtually the same resources.
Has the captain not to take some responsibility for players below par performance in The ODI World Cup-does that not indicate a lack of leadership,and game plan?

Well yeah of course Buttler has to take his fair share, but think all would agree nobody pre tournament expected our top established performers to perform soo badly in that tournament.

And as much as Buttler has to take responsibility they should get off Scot free and blame on captain

In the same way our England football managers have always his historically been blamed for our top players not performing in major tournaments
