Think there's a fair chance we're losing a lot of Slam winners on the men's tour this year. Rafa, Murray and Thiem pretty much 100% gone & Djokovic and Cilic both wouldn't be a shock.
I think Djokovic will retire after the 2026 Australian open.

Has a player ever fallen as dramatically as Thiem? Was knocking on the door for years could go toe to toe with the likes of Nadal and Djokovic, finally won his first slam and then he just totally collapsed and never did anything again. I know he had a few injuries but it's totally bizarre what happened to him.

Dominic Thiem is retiring.
😭 Sad but inevitable and been on the cards for 2 years, 2021 and 2022 are big 'what ifs' in slam terms for Thiem

Big wrist injury that he never recovered from, shame he couldnt recover like Del Potro did

Rafa v Zverev first round of French Open. A real shame that his last ever French Open match is probably going to be a loss against the worst possible person. Murray v Wawrinka R1 as well, a re-run of where the two men pretty much ended their careers at the top level with that semi in 2017. At least one of them will finally win a match this year!

That draw is wide open, can make a case for about twenty players having a decent chance. Genuinely probably the most open Slam draw in best part of twenty year.

yet another favourable draw for Djokovic though...
gutted about Rafa v Zverev as Rafa needed to play his way into the tournament, his only hope is if Zverev gets tight when serving.
Alcaraz, Sinner, Tsitsipas, Jarry all in the same half, Alcaraz has a decent draw if hes fully fit, Sinner less so, Tsitispas has an awkward first round match too

It's madness that Nadal is 3/1 to win a first round match at the French open, just shows where he is now , sad to see really .

I reckon Djokovic has just been saving himself for this , ignore all his results since Australia he's only bothered about slams now and with doubts about Sinner and Alcaraz in terms of fitness he's still the one to beat, especially with the draw he got , don't see him being troubled at all until the final.

Veterans match tonight at the French, Andy Murray v Stan the Man Wawrinka. Both have three Grand Slam titles either will be lucky to get through a couple of rounds now.

Do well to see a better match than that for the rest of this tournament, Osaka's level of hitting from the start all the way through till she was serving for the match was insane. Almost made Sabalenka look powderpuff some of the shots she took on. Fair play to Swiatek as well, conditions against her with the roof closed and she stuck in there. Probably cruise to the title now.

Bodes well for Osaka when we get back to hard court and her strongest surface back end of this year. Best she's looked since she came back.

Some good matches again today in Paris.

Am hoping for another one now. I can see it being another five-setter with a few tantrums added.

With the match about to kick off and the clock close to half past nine in Paris, do they continue playing till the end or is there a stop sometime after Midnight if the match isn't done yet ? If both players play well I can easily see this one being another four hours+ match. Would be bit silly to play at 2am.

Kom så Holger.

Play to a conclusion. Djokovic v Musetti finished at 3.30am a few nights ago.

Unbelievable by djokovic today could hardly walk at times, showed fantastic mental strength to stay out there till he felt physically better again. I don't really like his character but it's hard not to admire his mental strength and will to win
