We finish that before the rest of the ground got to the word marchingthis is so true
God forbid if we had to sing the 'spurs go marching in' song
Home grounds in general are shite. I was at Leeds. It was decent for the first 15mins of both halves, but then they got visibly & audibly frustrated & stopped singing. We sell tickets in huge numbers at home but the atmosphere / support in the ground is largely poor. I don't really understand why anyone thinks it's good. Aye, the football this season hasn't given us much to sing about but I thought the atmosphere for large parts was poor at home last season also and many years before that. For example, even in the PL days there's only a couple of games that really stick out where the SoL was properly loud (Chelsea at home under BSA for example). Away fans are second to none but it doesn't translate at home at all. Also very difficult to generate a good back and forth atmosphere with the away fans where they are.
What should happen is the club should reach out to the original group and find a way to make it workFair play to any fan taking the time with banners etc but the one on sat was pretty poor. We had a good thing with the SO37 stuff, the sheff wed playoff was class, but the shit they received was a disgrace and now we end up with a match day as shit off the pitch as on it.
Not sure I agree with that personally. There's quite a few grounds even in the Championship that manage to generate a good atmosphere.Home grounds in general are shite. I was at Leeds. Apparently they’ve got the best home atmosphere around.
I’ve been to Anfield loads of times, it’s always been average at best. You’ll Never Walk Alone at the start is canny.

That’s where we struggle really. I really think the answer is reclaiming the whole north stand as a proper home end.Nigh on impossible to slow the chanting down. You need a majority singing at a slower pace.
My idea would be to create a new “singing” section but only with people who actually want to contribute.
A lot of them have quiet spells, but then the whole ground gets involved at times.
People need to stop crying over the north stand being the home end.
It’s not gonna happen anytime soon if ever.
Like certain posters are stuck on repeat about it.
when the north stand was the home end, it was not that loud or noisy. There was more noise from the south west corner.People need to stop crying over the north stand being the home end.

There is something inherently wrong with the design and accoustics in the stadium as well though. I used to sit in the North Stand and from there could never hear anything form the South Stand. I'm now in the SWC and you can barely hear the away fans from there. Even on Satruday or when Boro were up there taking the piss. Location of away fans a massive problem for atmosphere as well.Yes to both.
The gates were opened at half time on Saturday and hundreds were piling out.
There's just not the culture at Sunderland for anything like SO37 to become successful and we'll be the only club that hasn't moved with the times within the next 5 years.
Agreed. It was better when the SWC was the 'singing' end. Still not great but better than it is nowThere is something inherently wrong with the design and accoustics in the stadium as well though. I don’t get to loads of aways, but the only one I can think of was Sheff Wed in the play offs. It was properly bouncing for 10mins after their goal. Not sure I agree with that personally. There's quite a few grounds even in the Championship that manage to generate a good atmosphere.
As much as the club weren't easy to deal with, it wasn't the club pulling it to shreds online or accusing people of stealing donations or tutting and making life difficult in the stands.
True. It’s only the back of the south stand where we have any atmosphere at all in the ground. Their efforts very rarely spread further than the rest of the south.Atmosphere all over the leagues , especially top two is getting worse .Traditionally it has always been the young males with a few beers inside getting things started and the rest joining in.
At Safc iirc we have the highest percentage of female ST holders and families. Throw in the amount of OAP’s that attend .

I honestly don’t know why some have crowds where a few other stands join and we don’t
I sit in the West Stand & I can tell you for a fact that I’ve started more than 5 chants off in U19.And those that do try are ridiculed by a majority of the fan base.
Since I’ve had a ST in 2010, I doubt more than 5 chants have started away from the South and SWC.
I think the atmosphere is wank but I’ve done summit to try and help. Anyone in the east, west and north can piss off for me. Prawn sarnie munchers.
