You'd think Southampton would have put something into the deal to protect them in some way given his recent injury record. Certainly, if this was Sunderland buying a player with so obvious issues I'd hope we got them super cheap or there was payments based on number of games played etc.

I'm sure they'll have structured the deal so that a fair portion of it would be appearance and goal related.
