Interesting one. About 6 years ago I had the opportunity to get away again. But bottled it.

Through my 20s I lived away. Am sure I was happy. Certainly not like this.

I know why am still here. Kids and an ageing mother I know full well am going to have to care for, even though we hate each other

My brother moved away. He won't ever come back and I don't blame him but I resent him

Might be an age thing like
I know it sounds horrible but sometimes I wish I didn't have kids. Love them to bits but if I didn't have them everything would be easier. I could just disappear and live (or die) anywhere and I wouldn't be missed. I feel like I'm a great dad when my head's ok but I'm absolutely useless at the minute.

Of course you will be missed ya daft twat. You’re the best dad the bairns could wish for and they need you. No matter how much you struggle you are always a great dad. Sending you a msg.

I don’t think for one moment that most of us have not had the same thoughts.
Equally they don’t make it easy and when you have your own challenges, they are your kids and most of us take their worries on as well.

You’re a good bloke as is everyone else who posts on this thread.
Just have to keep reminding yourself it’s those little bastard demons hiding in your head that take control. So easy to overthink, often thinking the big quantum leap decisions solve everything because they don’t. Equally never get frustrated at that because the solution to all of this is most often closer than what you think.

Talking and meeting people in my opinion is the best help of the lot. I know from my own experiences when I get stressed or frustrated I go into my “hedgehog” mode and curl up and push everyone away, doing everything on your own is not always the best solution as you are leaving more time to think and over-thinking if not controlled is a right bastard.

Finally I do believe Covid had a real negative impact on all of us and the remnants are still haunting us even now. It significantly impacted and changed our lives so quickly and most of us unaware of the damages it has caused.

When was the last time you had a great laugh? That is something that should be targeted by us all.
Sadly and unfortunately we should never have chosen our mutual football teams but hey hoo we can still have a laugh at the non footballing side of that.

Stay strong all you wonderful people. X

How are you Ciro? Hope you are feeling better.

The bad feelings are pretty much constant at the moment mate but I'm plodding on.

Had a weekend away with the lads the other week and had a great laugh but even then I lay awake getting myself chewed to bits while the others slept. Can't switch off when I'm alone. Managed about 3 hours of broken sleep last night. I agree that the after effects of lockdowns etc are still playing a major part in everything.

If you need a coffee or a chat with someone who isn’t a familiar face mate I’m here.

Hope your feelings change, it’s easier said than done but I’ve been at rock bottom and it’s taken years and I still have moments but it will improve I promise you that.

Thank you xx

You'd be guest of honour in the museum if we ever play Swindon 😎

Seriously believe that is never going to happen now with where we are heading.
Already told my lads that I will make the trip up one day even if it sadly doesn’t involve Swindon.
Painted Hartlepool Red and can’t leave Sunderland out after living on here.

Been drinking in South Shields a few times thus getting closer.

What's it like in the mental health hub mate and does it get busy ?
BTW amazing for volunteering for that as know you have your struggles too 👍.

There's usually a few people stop by. We've got a wide selection of leaflets and business cards so we can listen and then signpost to relevant organisations/groups if they think they need further support.

That's so good to know , I go to a little club on Kayll Road Library and a few are really struggling so if ok can I let them know that it's there on a matchday if they want to pop down ❤️.

Thank you, they would be very welcome if they want to drop by. It's on from 12.30-14.30 for 3pm kick offs. Other kick offs are 2½ hours to 30 mins before kick off.

There's a cafe and various other activities going on if they want to hang around in the Beacon.
