Maybe bands should have a van outside the venue selling their merch to avoid these fees??Yeah i try to remember to always ask, and i dont really go to the sort of venues that would
Some bands have set up their merch in a nearby pub as a protest rather than give the venue their demanded cut (generally c.20% of gross price). This practice will only cease if bands stop playing the likes of Academy Music Group venues.Maybe bands should have a van outside the venue selling their merch to avoid these fees??
This often happens. Always ask at the merch table and if it does generally youll find out where theyre selling..done it many timesMaybe bands should have a van outside the venue selling their merch to avoid these fees??
If you can get a Stranglers ticket go for itYearly pilgrimage to see SLF at the City Hall this Friday..still might grab a Stranglers ticket for Thursday like.
I saw them last week, very good! The Musical Box,.tonight
Just paid £23 to see English teacher at the end of the month ,4 bands on . Stopped even bothering with the big money stuff years ago .Massive sheds and tiny people on a stageAbsolutely madness price of gigs these days, I’ve been persuaded by the wife to take her to a couple in the next year, just paid £250 for some Saturday night Killers tickets down Manchester, but the one that really sticks in my throat…£600 for two tickets to see Usher in London next year, cheapest available!!!Some tickets were £1400 each!!!
I’ve absolutely no idea what any of his songs are like!
They sound like prices from secondary ticket agents such as Viagogo.Absolutely madness price of gigs these days, I’ve been persuaded by the wife to take her to a couple in the next year, just paid £250 for some Saturday night Killers tickets down Manchester, but the one that really sticks in my throat…£600 for two tickets to see Usher in London next year, cheapest available!!!Some tickets were £1400 each!!!

The service charge and handling fee for the Killers was £35 in itself!Just paid £23 to see English teacher at the end of the month ,4 bands on . Stopped even bothering with the big money stuff years ago .Massive sheds and tiny people on a stage
Tim Burgess has been quite vocal about this in support of bands not as successful as his. which is a good thing. The Featured Artists Coalition have been working on it. see hereMaybe bands should have a van outside the venue selling their merch to avoid these fees??
Fontaines DC in Stockton about a year ago, think T-shirts were about £30. Seemed extortionate. Got outside after & bought the same t-shirt for £10. Could have been bootleg, but I’m more of the thinking it was a protest sale.Never seen those prices unless the venue insist on a cut which shouldn't be allowed
The problem with merch outside the venues would be the dodgy fake sellers out there.
Just had a look at Usher out of curiosity, looks like the lowest price was £76 but they’ve all gone. Loads of standing tickets being resold between £300-£400 quid. Few seats up in the gods being sold for between £130-£190 and are being described as “platinum” which I’m guessing is another word for their dynamic pricing as reading into it it states they’ve been priced at their market value by the organiser and can change. They sound like prices from secondary ticket agents such as Viagogo.
Good old Ticketbastard. I was thinking more of The Killers tickets in Manchester as they have been on sale for a good while.Just had a look at Usher out of curiosity, looks like the lowest price was £76 but they’ve all gone.
