Pre season tour - Zimbabwe

Are Lees, Bedders, Robinson, Carse and Potts going to be involved at all on the tour? Hadn't seen them in any of the social media videos.

Understandable to give them more of a break with all having played test/unofficial test cricket in past 2 weeks.

But Parkinson was in the Lions setup and playing, but guess did miss the last Lions "test"

Carse and Potts Uni game.

De Leede flying out soon.

I believe Lees and Robinson will be heading out at some point for the T20 games.

Sowter will also be joining up

Borthwick out clean bowled attempting a reverse sweep for 53.
Mckinney out earlier for 18. Caught out in the outfield having chipped a ball up in the air. From what i have seen of him he gets out a lot this way for Durham and England u19s.
Ackerman looking very comfortable on 54 and Bushnell in at number 5.
Bushnell out for a 3 ball duck. Caught at point wafting at a short ball.
Clark in at 6.

Considering McKinney should be hammering the door down to replace Jones.

He's not really given a good account of himself for the Durham first XI in the white ball last year and now this. (granted he's 19 just signed his first deal in August and I'm being a harsh)

No i don't think you are. Its not just that he is not making big runs but he tends to get out the same way chipping ball in the air through miss timed shots.

Clark out now lbw and Mustard follows cleaned bowled for a duck.
Durham 187/6 at close of play.
Enjoyable days cricket on a grey February day.

Granted not elite opposition.

But Harare I'm sure had some big test scores, so being asked to field and being 8 runs behind at close is good going.

Especially with 5/11 being that inexperienced, I'd imagine haven't even got 20 FC games between them.

Ackermann is just a shrewd addition
Without a doubt thought it was a great signing for both formats(as he'll be in the Hundred probably)

Going to be harsh on who we leave out as De Leede looked really good in FC last year. But imagine he's the one to miss out if everyone fit/available.

But going with only 3 seamers is also something we might not want to do. So who then misses out instead?

Probably Carse and or Potts to England

Probably Carse and or Potts to England
Aye Carse likely missing in June and Potts in August.

Either way different make up of the side if this is the side we pick. Same amount of bowlers, but 3 seamers 2 spinners. Instead of 4 and 1.

Lees
Jones
Borthwick
Ackermann
Bedingham
Clark
Robinson
Carse
Raine
Potts
Parkinson

Strong line up that. Would love to see that for most of the season

Worry for me is Carse misses 6-7 CC games cos of England white ball series.

Potts likely 3 due to tests and who knows with ODI's.

Pakistan T20 Series 22/05-30/05 (1-2 CC games/2 Blast games)
T20 World Cup 03/06-29/06 (2 CC games and 6 Blast games)
WI Tests 10/07-30/07 (4 Blast games)
Sri Lanka Tests 21/08-10/09 (3 CC games)
Aus T20 11/09-15/09 (1 CC Game)
Aus ODI 19/09-29/09 (2 CC games)

Yeah big miss those two. Coughin to come in and one from Gibson or Macalindon. Should still be strong enough to do well
I think Scott Boland won't be happy :(
Great call.

Great call
Scott Boland instead of Carse for late May and June!

Me completely forgetting about him, who drops out the side for him in April and early May is a great problem to have :lol:

Borland here for the first block of championship matches.
I think Borthwick will open with Lees.
