India v England 3rd Test Rajkot

50 years ago family emergencies were unheard of. You were picked you played or toured. Now it happens a lot.

No judgement. Just an observation.

I.just found at breakfast that Ashwin is out. No objection to replacing him.
From an England perspective, obviously whoever they replace him with won't be as good.

Absolutely extraordinary innings that like.
In the cheap £1 seats, surrounded by unhappy locals. Just me making noise. Bloke next to me was about to leave until Pope got out.
I can't say if we will win, or even draw, there's a long way to go, and we bat last.
But the thing is people believe it's possible and that's a huge achievement. Supporting England is normally like supporting Sunderland. Always expect the worse. But this is like when we had Roy Keane, always think you're in with a chance.
Today is the day, once again, win, lose or draw, we've taken the game to them.
They seem to find it difficult to cope with the England mindset, and a lot is going wrong for them off the field- Kohli, Jadeja, Rahul and now Ashwin.
They don't like it up 'em.

Indian cricket fan next to me saying Root should not be playing this way.
TBF, he watches a lot of cricket and has been saying this from Day 1.

Shame Brook isnt back to play the next test, would be looking to bring Jennings in for the next test if Johnny fails again.
Just need to see Bumrah off and get 1 good partnership going
