Drinking in Sunderland City Centre - restored

I've had to check everything to see if you were right and you are!!
They've only been open a month and they're resorting to desperate measures already putting 50% off their food and doing Sunday roasts. Some fine dining that is.

But yeah Stonegate's situation summarises the hospitality situation and you're stupid as an oaf to suggest otherwise - When you have The Borough, The Chesters and The Board Inn and you find yourself 2.6 billion in debt that's not the establishments. That's debts they've racked up since Day 1 of COVID, all they've had help wise over lockdown is business grants which doesn't even cover the out of date kegs they've had to pour out, still paying business tax on top of that and VAT. Nowadays min wage has skyrocketed, utilities have skyrocketed and the last bit of help they're getting ends on Good Friday.
And it's spiralled out of control and its the same for every business nearly.
Board Inn must do well , always looks busy when go past

Just walked past Cleo's police car there and the front of the pub is taped off.

More surprised it didn't happen sooner. Having door supervisors on just Fridays and Saturdays on a busy pub like that was asking for it. Licensing officers have been sniffing around the place like an unflushed turd waiting for something to happen.

Police car and ambulance were there about 11pm last night

2 arrested for GBH ffs.
I love the place I do, the staff are fantastic, the regulars are some characters but when you have a bar which is rammed every night and you only have door supervisors on a Friday and Saturday, something really bad's gonna happen.

Had the gadgie who got smashed in the back alley a few month ago for just simply sitting down on the same table as them. I have good relations with the pubwatch team and they're absolutely fed up of the shit, gonna get his licence took off him if he keeps pissing them off.

When does it open? I thought it wasn’t until next week. Ah just read that bit again that may not be open for drinks yet.
You could see inside when we went to the Keel Tavern before the match the other night and it looked like everything was completed
