People saying it shouldn't have been done - bloody good job it was. Cost a fortune to build the north stand extension now. Luton have done nothing else but spent money on players and very little on their infrastructure. All the PL money they make this season will be needed to build their new ground. Would we rather now be in the PL like Luton playing in front of 18k at Roker Park or be in the Championship with 48k at the Sol? Knowing any money we made in the PL would be needed to build a modest stadium next season at today's prices and leave very little for players. That's what Luton will be doing. Fans going on about threadbare carpets, flaky paint, generally run down, looks like we aren't spending much on either players or the ground so any talk of further extensions is just crazy. I think the Sol capacity is about right, the old girl just needs some maintenance. I loved Roker Park but the Sol is magical too in its own way, actually quite attached to her.
