No one got their money back did they? So not sure how the 10k would make any sense in terms of what you’re suggesting.People donating for a display that was signed off then didn’t get the display they had donated for.
Sorry to hear this. And thanks for all your efforts.I've done a few stints helping out the past few seasons including staying till 9pm last Friday with the bairn to make the banner. Really opened my eyes as to how bad it is. Can't imagine how the main organisers feel given all that they give up - they're f***ing heroes in my eyes for what they've done.
But as I said in another thread, trooping over to B&M for water and extra rolls of duck tape, and into a Mcdonalds just for a coffee to keep warm cos it was that baltic, all while ya grafting away right next to the f***ing catering stalls - ya couldn't make it up. How hard to plug a tea caddy or coffee machine in ffs man.
Nobody (other than Chris Waters) coming over to see how we doing and offering support or thanks. The lads having to ask the club to turn the bastard lights on. The club revealing the display on social media after the lads asked everyone to keep it quiet - and to top it off, not even tagging them or crediting them in the picture. Still no dedicated storage facilities at all for flags and surfers that cost thousands of pounds and are just slung over the back of the south stand. No assistance to offer seating plan assistance for designing the displays. The list just goes on.
Other things to that i would love to ask them anarl personally - why can you not offer aassistance and support on match day over the tannoy during the build up? Time of display, basic instructions, encouragement to participate, ccredit to the SO37, offer details on how to volunteer and when, encourage donations and how they can get in touch with the lads. Basic f***ing stuff that takes ZERO effort.
It's heartbreaking and infuriatingly in equal measure. The lads have laid the foundations of something that could go on and be f***ing brilliant. Yes there's been mistakes, yes there's lessons to be learned, yes some displays have worked better than others - that's how these things evolve. But fuck me the hierarchy have made this an impossible task. I just hope KLD reads this board and fixes it soon.

More likely he is not dealing with day to day stuff and the staff are doing whatever they feel like.
Was it SO37 responsible for the flags in the South Stand?
Think you’ve got that wrong.People donating for a display that was signed off then didn’t get the display they had donated for.
All of the displays in the last 4 years ish ( same group even before they were known as so37)Was it SO37 responsible for the flags in the South Stand?
There was only one to my memory, funded by rorack shipping. Which was the defoe surfer which was ready to go only for the safety officer to pull the plug at the last moment as some knob head in the con course had let off a smoke flare. I was there holding the surfer ready to go ..gutted. Shortly after Defoe leftThink you’ve got that wrong.

Seems odd, and I don't mean to undermine the SO37, more having a dig at the club. Donating £10,000, then the announcement that we cannot make any reference to the Saudis. He probably donated just to try and take the 'fan funded' aspect away, to basically give him the right to stop the sports washing display. I'm going full cynic with these now like.
Sportswashing display signed off by the club and donations made. KLD made a 10k payment, enough to cover the donations at that point and more, then the club banned the display the day they were due to put the order in.
Yous are obviously very dedicated to the club which I respect but I personally find it all a bit forced and americanised.
And a nearly died getting tangled up in that foil shite.

The atmosphere at most of our league games is absolutely shite. Has been for ages.I’m personally not fussed on the flags and stuff. At the end of the day we have some atmosphere and waving some flags or holding some card up doesn’t add to that for me. Might look good in some photos but that’s about it. The whole thing just seems like a complete faff for the people doing it
The fan culture now at a lot of other clubs is growing all the time. At the same time SAFC making it as difficult as possible for fans groups to keep this going. Shame that the club don't value the effort they've put in.There'll be nowt forced or americanised anymore so we can go back to the odd roar and red and white army chant like we are stuck in the 90s whilst fan culture takes off everywhere else.
That's @Silly Point you probably thinking of who's a Hull fan and not that clown.I may have just missed things in the past but I always thought you were a decent poster before reading that mind
Am I right in thinking you don't even support Sunderland?
Great work, credit to all involved. Our fans are superb, always have been always will be.The fans were amazing. The volunteers were amazing. The display looked amazing (in our opinion)
We’ve done everything we can. We’ve taken enough of a battering from our own fans. We’re done.
Thank you for all your support. Fuck the mags.
Goodnight.
Sad, sad day indeed to see the twitter account go. I think I'm more gutted about all of this than the f***ing result on saturday. There'll be people at the club absolutely buzzing - how tragic is that manGreat post. Thank you for mucking in and getting the job done on Friday. I'll certainly miss that camaraderie. Met some topper people over the years.
I've just noticed the twitter account has gone and that's made me feel really sad.
